Well, for me, the two captains that will coincide being at top will be "STEVE WAUGH" and "HANSIE CRONJIE"...
Both these captains in the same era, made their teams the toughest to beat. The Australia and South Africa were treated as totally equal, South Africa sometimes do had the upper edge...
Both Captains, Steve Waugh and Hansie Cronjie were brave and big-hearted. They took calculated risks at crucial situations. They were always in mood to try different, say different field positions, unexpected bowling and batting changes. They were both cool-headed, always thinking and always trying to win.
They both also had the same responsibilities as players in the team. Both batted in the middle-order, and both bowled medium pacres usually regarded as partnership breakers. Both players were keen to lead from the front...
Although, Hansie Cronjie was later on invovled in the match-fixing scandals. But for me he was a true captain and true inspiration. He made South Africa a unit that was regarded as the toughest to beat. They used to fight till the last ball. The unity, the passion, the enthusiasm was there among the players...
Although many people regard Steve Waugh superior than H.Cronjie just because of captaining the World Cup winning squad in 1999, but there isn't really the much difference...
Hats off to both great captains, Steve Waugh and Hansie Cronjie...
