With all the hot weather we've been having lately, I guess it took a toll on my living room a/c unit. I had to phone maintenance this morning. It was checked out, and he said it will have to be repaired-maybe later today or I will have to wait until Monday. Fortunately, I have a separate unit in the bedroom, because, while the temperature is only supposed to reach 90* today, it is going to be back up to 98* on Sunday.

Isn't that always the way it works out ... are temperatures are very high this week, in fact, they are predicting we will reach in the 100's by this weekend in Texas, I pray that they get it fixed today and that you will be cool and comfortable this weekend.

Thanks, texas. I will be holed up in my bedroom for the duration, lol. As the day wears on, it's looking more unlikely that they will get around to me before Monday.

We had that happen to us a couple of summers ago. Our upstairs AC unit crapped out right in the middle of summer. The replacement one is really struggling to keep up this year....we are at 101 today and I the AC plus every ceiling fan in the house going and it's still warm....it cools right off at night though which makes it okay to sleep in.

Yeah, inked, they always pick the wrong time to go on the blink. Luckily, the night does bring a respite from some of the heat.

Oh dear this is a problematic situation.
I know that in my country we also have this hot days, and if my air condition would not have worked i would have gone crazy.
With this heat i can not sleep or function properly without air condition.
Hope this problem would be solved fast for you.

luckily for me i live in a much higher elevation so the humidity is usually much lower than many places. Most of the time the "heat" is tolerable due to lower humidity. I have to newer a/c units just sitting here in my house consuming space that i haven't got around to putting in my windows yet. I doubt i will either since i usually work all day and when i get home after 11pm its cools down considerably to a temperature my fan can handle to help me sleep.

Well thank goodness you still have the a/c in your bedroom...guess you're going spend a lot of time there..LOL...Arggh...you might have to wait until Monday to have it fixed though? We had a really bizarre change of weather today...just yesterday in was in the high eighties, the day before that mid-90s...Today it was unbelievable..I actually felt cold today, as our weather plummated down to the 60s!! But hey, no way am I complaining..it is just weird though--

That is bad! With all the hot weather everywhere, I always wonder how many people don't have air conditioning. You always hear stories of people dying because of the hot weather, and living in homes without air conditioning. I know in our area we have a fan club, where people donate fans and they are distributed to people in need. Good luck, I hope they get it fixed soon!

I've never had AC. We always just deal with it. Every year I swear we are going to invest in one and then the heat spell passes...we are still alive and well and once again comfortable. This year before it even got really hot, I asked my daughter...so what do you think, should we finally go get an air conditioner? she said "no, I like the heat, lets not waste our money." We talk each other out of expenses all the time. Last week I was kind of thinking that I should not have listened to her but as I type it is quite cool in here...have a sweater and t-shirt on and am still chilly. I could be wrong but I think my daughte has the right idea....our bodies adjust to the elements. I find I am most uncomfortable after I have stepped out of an air conditoned place than before I've been in one.
