Which movie do you watch every time it's on?

Today I spent cleaning my living room and as I was sorting my box of DVDs and putting them back in alphabetical order I thought about my favorite movies ever. There are several movies that I watch every time I'm flipping channels and I see that they are on. Even if I own the DVD I'm still compelled to watch. Braveheart is my favorite (that's how I came up with my user name) but there are many others.
My favorites are Gone With the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music, Amadeus, Dave, THe American President, The Godfather movies, Goodfellas, Finding Nemo, Office Space, all of the Harry Potter movies, Baby Boom. I just can't resist them!
What our your favorite movies? The ones that you just watch over and over again?

I don't really need to watch my fav movies when they're on tv because I tend to buy the dvd's to the good movies. Although the movies quoted so far in this discussion are excellent, especially Goodfellas & Pulp Fiction.
My curent fav movie that I'll add to the discussion is Once Upon a time In The West by Sergio Leoni, it's fantastic even if it is old :)

my favorite movies are Prince of thieves by Kevin Costner, Lion King , Jungle Book, First i would say why Prince of Thieves is on of my favorite because of the sitting "back to the nature" the action also is great, so much fencing and shooting arrows to the enemy is great you know and the soundtrack is so cool by bryan Adams..
The Lion King why because of the story which is not far from reality. he run from being king because he think he the one who kill his father but only to find out later on as his father visit him in a vision and convince him to go back and be the ruler of the pride land

Prince of Thieves was a really good movie that I forgot all about. I remember seeing that one at the movies and I loved it. And now that you've got me thinking about Kevin Costner it reminds me that I always watch The Bodyguard and Dances With Wolves whenever they are on. I also love the Lion King. Makes me cry every time.

I am the same even when i have them on dvd.
Any Carry On film I will always watch. You may not be familiar with these, they are old British comedy films. I absolutely love them and were brought up on them as a child.
I am addicted to The Descent at the mo, so if its on I am there. Also Casino, Goodfellas, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and any Hammer Horror film.
I have been so engrossed with Heroes, Dexter and Jericho lately I seem to forget about all my favourite films. As I am on school holiday now I am making it my mission to catch up and enjoy my best films again.
Cheers.

I'm a movie lover from way back. Used to love all those old Hammer Horror movies with Christopher Lee as Dracula. I remember going to the movie house and watching "Jaws" and "Tommy".
Movies I never fail to watch when I'm flipping channels and they are on? "Tombstone" Gawd I love that movie. That was Kurt Russell's defining role and one of Billy Bob Thornton's first. Movie has one of my favorite quotes, "You tell 'em I'M coming...and hell's coming with me! You hear! HELL'S COMING WITH ME!".
I also never miss "Grease", "The Shawshank Redemption", and "Blazing Saddles" (maybe the most quotable movie ever, after another movie I never miss, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail") Oh, and "Unforgiven", "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and "The Wedding Singer" AND, "The Godfather". Then, of course, there's the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Yeah! Great movies. Shawshank Redemption is outstanding but I never see that one on TV. Im going to have to buy that one on DVD. Blazing Saddles I need to rent. I remember going to the movies with my parents but I think I was like 5 or something when it came out and I was coloring in a coloring book or something. I remember my parents laughing hysterically over that one. I always watch the Wedding Singer too. Thanks!

Well i am an absolute movie buff and love quality movies.Movies for me is an art and so i like movies which has a startling conclusion or has some materials in it which can stir up your thought processes and will lead you to think atleast for few moments after the movie has concluded.Judged by this factor some movies I definitely want to see as many times as possible are Schindlers list for its vivid and so lively presentation of the naked truth of the Jewish holocaust and similar pattern movies like Life Is Beautiful,Hotel Rwanda.Among the lightspirited moviestuffs,Lord of the rings trilogy/pirates of carribean stand out as the best for me.

Well you wouldn't know it to look at my original list, but I also love movies that make me think too. I also love Schindler's List. It sounds weird to say I love a movie about something so horrible, but it was a good movie that helped to teach me about something I didn't know much about. Gandhi is another movie that I love that helped me to learn a lot.
Great post! Thanks!

I would never miss gone with the wind.
When my daughter and I know it will be on TV, we make a night of it, a girls night, with popcorn and a shared time. But my favorite is Out Of Africa. Of coure the childen think it is boring, so they leave the room. One night I started to watch the old version of The King And I, I could not believe it all the children sat and watched it with me. The same for The Joy Luck Club. My son even cried.

Oh yeah, The King and I is one that always sucks me in too! I love the scene where they're dancing and that big poofy skirt of hers is swishing around and the song is just awesome too.

Easy peasy. Remember the Titans, Grease, School of Rock, Wizard of Oz, It Takes Two, Mean Girls, Maid in Manhatten, and several others. I can also watch Harry Potter over and over again without getting bored, which is nice, because I love Harry Potter.

Great movies you mentioned out here, makes me wanna open my player and watch a movie!;)
Anyways, movies that make me wanna go watch them are those that I find interesting tow hat. Biographies of prominent people, that helped shape the world and even turn it upside down. Box-office hits, dramas that made me teary-eyed and comedies. Some of these on my lists are LOTR(1,2&3), JFK, Lethal Weapon(1-4), Godfather(1,2&3), Big Momma(1&2), Jackie Chan films(am a big fan of his) and A walk in the Clouds.

Hi.
Yes there are some movies which you feel like watching every time they are on, no matter how many times you have already gone through it. One such movie is "Vivah". i watched it first time on 28th of the last month and by now I have watched the full movie at least 11 times. Now I own its D.V.D. as well As the CD.
Other than that I like Independence day a lot.

When I was a kid, it was "It's A Wonderful Life". That was long before it went into the public domain and started being shown on every station a dozen times every year. It was shown rarely and so was a treat, as it is a great, classic movie. It is shown so often now, that I completely avoid it.
For me, that is the key. Movies I don't own on DVD or that bring back childhood memories, movies that are shown only once a year or infrequently - those are my favorites. The "Wizard of OZ" was a wonderful, magical experience when we were kids. My children don't have the same response to it now that we have a DVD of it and it can be seen anytime. It is no more special to them than any other movie or TV show.

If I had one movie that I would drop anything and watch on T.V. and do anytime I see it, it is Boondock Saints. But I also have watched Dodgeball, The Matrix movies, and Bruce Almighty has come on a lot lately.

I could watch Fried Green Tomatoes over and over again. Also, The Exorcist, The Godfather Trilogy, the original Star Wars Trilogy, Of Mice and Men, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump...
Another big one is When Harry met Sally. One channel aired a marathon of that movie over and over again on New Year's Eve... and I watched it. The marathon. Not just the movie once. Anytime I see that it's on, I watch it.
