Do I/we have pets? Yes, my hubby and I currently have two 70 pound dogs. One is a Lab/Shepherd cross named Tasha. She is heading into her 16th year with us and a valued member of our family. Whatever time we have left with her is a gift. Even being the age she is she still manages to get around and as long as her quality of life is good we will not put her down.
Our second dog Cherokee is in his 7th year and is a Shepherd/Malamute cross. He is a great dog and we love both of them. Dogs provide a different kind of companionship than cats...so we have both.
We also have 5 cats all around a year in age. Nexus is our black female, Nova is the mocha colored male, Tigger and Teetooh are ginger marmalde male twins and Ellie is a grey tabby female.
Pets have been part of my life since my parents got our first pet Blondie, a golden cocker spanial when I was around 6. Pets are are a responsibility...but they bring so much love and companionship...that whatever you need to do to give them a good life is given back in countless ways. In considering adding a pet to your life I would remind you that they should be 'fixed' to keep the pet population down. We usually get our pets from the Humane Society or try to adopt barn cats or animals that might not be given a home otherwise. Quality food and lots of tender loving care keeps the bond between owners and their pets strong.
Good luck with your choice making if you decide to go for it!

The family has dogs, turtles, fishes. Had rabbits, birds and hamsters too.
It's fun to have pets, but there are responsibilities to it. If I were you, since you are a first-timer in pets, choose the lesser evil or the lesser responsibility pets first then gradually increase the level of responsibility. Like, you can start with those in cages first, like birds, hamsters etc. These are low-maintenance pets, you don't need to have extra effort, you just feed them and give them enough water and clean their cages. Or you could start with fish on a fishbowl, just put food, ensure it's clean then you go t a pet. Then if you think you are ready for the next level, then go for cats or dogs which are higher level maintenance, because they poop anywhere and they go anywhere so they leave pet hair anywhere. *LOL*
That's my opinion but you do what you want. :)
I'm going to buy a gold fish. I'm going to start my own fish-bowl in my room. I'll try to have a pet. We have pets at home but those are my brothers' or parents' pets, I haven't actually had a pet of my own. So I'll try the goldfish for now.

Hi, I have two dogs one cat and three birds. The one I enjoy the most is my cockatoo. She is my baby. They become very attatched to you. It is a little more expensive than a dog. But you do not have to walk it. And clean up is easy.
