No I don't believe in Marriage, even tho I have been married to the same woman for 52 years. Marriage is a man-made institution. and it comes with a promise. Promises are Impossible to keep. In order to keep a promise everything must remain the same (without change). In this world EVERYTHING changes all the time. Nothing remains constant (except change) So how can anyone keep a promise when all the conditions are in a continous state of change?

But bear... that's what makes us people; the ability to bind our future unseen in the present. All you can really say is that you cannot keep promises, you cannot speak for all.
all the best urban

I'm sorry urban, but that went right over your head and you didn't get it! A promise by definition is an agreement that's,"carved in stone!" Nothing in This World can remain Constant!Everything is in a State of constant Flux (this is a Fact that is irreversible and unquestionable!) Therefore, it is impossible for anyone (including you) to keep a promise even if it is carved in stone!

I still do believe in marriage, even though my parents are separated. I think if they legalize divorce here in our country then what are marriage for. that's why marriage are a big responsibility. my dad says that he doesn't feel that much bout my mom, i think it's their fault that it got that way. Marriage is a tie between two people and a partnership forever.

I don't believe in using prewritten traditional marriage vows, but I do believe in marriage, and I do believe that it can bind you forever. The reason I say I don't believe in the traditional marriage vows is that I believe each marriage should be unique and tailored to the couple getting married, and before my husband taught me that, I didn't believe in marriage at all. There are so many ways that marriage has been used to supress women in the past, that if each marriage weren't unique and unconnected from that history, it would be something I considered evil.
