I am a music fanatic. I like all different types of music. Sometimes, I like it low, slow, and mellow and sometimes thumping and bumping. It all depends on the mood that I am in and what I am doing.
When I need to be motivated, I need something upbeat and fun to dance to. Especially when I am cleaning my apartment. When I want to simmer down, I like it soft, slow, and meaningful.
But more than anything, the words have to speak to me. I don't want to hear a lot of noise and I don't want to hear a bunch of crap. I think that a person should only put pen to paper if they have something to say worth listening to. No body likes to turn on their stereo and hear a lot of inaudible, unintelligent junk. So how do you like it?

When I am exercising or cleaning the house I like it pumping loud and fast just to get me going, funky beats and all. When i am walking i like music that i can walk fast too so mostly its beaty beaty music on my ipod. When I warm down I like smooth slow jams that i can stretch to or even walk slowly too.
Depending on my mood I listen to mostly Pacific Island music with drums and beats and slow music too - makes me feel happy when i do.

I like all kinds of music from country to oldies, to pop to psychedelic, to rock and roll to disco to the 80's...well it depends on the song. Do I like all country songs? No, and that goes for every genre. I can listen to songs I like from the late 50's to some of todays's music. I like fast or upbeat and slower songs too. Forget rap and hard rock, heavy metal and hip hop. I have enough choices and do not like any of those genres. In fact, out of the thousands of songs I have encountered in my lifetime, I only like about 25% and I can listen to those as much as I like and not get tired of hearing them. So for me, there are maybe less than 1,000 songs that I care to listen to.

Less than one thousand? That is a pretty small number considering the fact that teenagers put that many on their Ipods. But I for one understand just how personal music can be and when you don't like it, you don't. No matter how many others do and vice versa.

Hi Rozie37! I agree with you absolutely. It depends on the mood I have for that moment..like you, if I need to clean the house or do some exercise, I lsten to upbeat music and if I wanted to relax, I listen to romantic, soft music...if I wanted to meditate, I listen to nature's music. And yes, I am very particular with the lyrics of each song that I am listening to...don't want any crap either. Have a nice day and take care.

Personally, I like my music loud and fast for the majority of the time. So most of my music revoles around the metal genre and all of its smaller sub genres and but I also like a Classic Rock and I tend to throw that into the middle of my metal playlists to give a break the same thing.

I am very much into country, country/rock music, I love the music from the 60's and it depends what sort of mood I am in as well, I think this is probably the same with everyone, mood establishes a lot but I know music is very important in my life, I would find it very hard to live without it that for sure.
