I liked it enough but was hugely disappointed. I think they added some things and left a whole lot out. I know they can't put the whole book onto the screen but it felt like the ending of the movie was rushed and there should have been more. Even my husband who has never read the books said he felt there was a whole lot missing and he was disappointed this time around. I liked a lot of the scenes I just didn't like them adding things. Like Umbridge does not get into the Room of Requirement in the book, and Cho does not rat them out, it was her friend. Anyone else catch on to some of this? I just only watched the movie this weekend and was sadly disappointed. Hopefully the next one won't be as bad.

Disappointing .
they did show the ministry way of life properly , represented how life at hogwarts under the dictator ship of fudge was .
But then , in all the old movies , there was some BIG thing, some fight , some spark , some quidditch or a dragon or a duel , or some way of great action ;)
The movie went slow slow slow , nothing interesting , fred and george were the only odd thing , other wise the movie was slow .
Final scene was okay , not all what i expected .
Harry giving the prophecy back ;( was a big minus
okayish movie

i totally agree with you!
i read the 5th book
and then went and saw
the movie. i was like what
happend , this sux
they skipped around so
much in the movie that you
had to of read the book to
know what was going on;
and they said that Cho told!
and not her little red headed friend
i was soo angry.
i would have rathered them make a 5 hr long
movie with all the details
than see that one.
it would def be worth the 5 hrs if they made
it right.

Yeah. I've read 1-6 3 times and working on 7 for a 2nd time. They left a LOT out of the movie. It was mostly just sub-plots, but I enjoyed all of the sub-plots almost more than the main plot. I agree in your statement that they changed things that just didn't make sense. Why change things when it didn't save them money OR time? It was just changed for the sake of being changed...like..Harry never told McGonagall about writing lines, yet they had this big fight in the corridors in the movie.

I dont know why im responding with this one, coz i didn't find the latest harry potter movie 5 as bad you guys did.
For me, it was ok, not bad not, but not that great as the previous parts..
Anyway, i am huge fan of Harry Potter and i loved this movie indeed.
I have nothing to say against the movie.
For me it was fine and worth watching it still...

Good for you, and thanks for responding. I know a lot of people who have either read the book or didn't and loved the latest installment in movie form. There were some good parts that were nice to see caught on film. I just think personally it would have been so much better had there been a few things added or portrayed correctly and better. BUt to each his own.

I totally agree with you. The new movie was poor, it left out all of the good content that was in the books.
I liked tho things and two things only with this movie, the Dumbledores Army scenes and the scene with Fred and George breaking out from school. They left out that Ron and Hermione was prefects with is a crucial ingredient to the movie. And the ministry scene was nothing more than a Avada Kedavra spell and lots off glass breaking.
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and this movie was a great dissapointment compared to the other 4

I am so able to relate to your feelings on this. A lot about Kreacher was left out and he plays a big part in the last book. And the significance behind the voldemort dreams. They didn't even touch on the O.W.L.S and what and why they are doing them. And the Quidditch. Ron and Ginny both get to join the team and they don't even hint about it. ANd I agree about the fighting scenes. There was so much more in the book and the movie just bombed in comparison. They did not even bring out the real character of Luna Lovegood. I am no professional or movie critic, but it just seemesd they should have done more with it.
