The welfare system should be abolished. Why should I have to work while others sit at home getting fat collecting a monthly paycheck. I have heard a lot of welfare recipients complain that there are no jobs. Well there are not a lot of jobs that pay $50,000 per year with no education or work history. Why should our tax dollars pay for them when we, the working people, need free health care. If they abolished welfare we can have greatly reduced medical costs.

The welfare system should be reformed. The working poor should be able to get beniffits instead of being pentalized for working.

The welfare system should be there for people who fall on hard times who need assistance to get their lifes back on track. For those who have disabilities and need help in living an active life. To help people with mental problems too, as care in the community is a joke. To look after children's welfare where parents fail and give them a good home and start in life. In the UK there are so many genuine people who need the welfare system to survive, however, there are so many who milk the system and know what to get without doing anything to better their lifes. Parents having kid after kid and living off benefits is wrong. If you can't afford kids, don't have them. Or those who fake disabilities makes it harder for those with genuine cases. For me these people are lazy and because this country is so quick at handing out benefits it does not encourage them to get off their butts and go out to work like the rest of us. My biggest concern is children's homes in this country, there has been so many cases where they are not looked after properly and it is so sad, the same as old peoples homes.

The welfare system should be...tougher on people who are employable and less likely to support not only men but women as well. Women having babies should be made to be in the work force to support the children which in turn sets a good example. (MY OPINION WHY I THINK THIS WAY) Welfsre should and would have extra dollars for those who genuinely need the help if proper proceedure be taken. We as parents should be resposible to set a good example for our young people encouraging them to make the world a better place to live.

needs to be REFORMED! I work in a non-profit social service agency and see first hand the mistakes made by the welfare system. There needs to be a better way to help the needy without enabling them to stay in thier current situation.
