How many locks do you have on your front door?

When we lived in New York, we had at least three locks on our front door. Not that it was unsafe to live there, but the locks were on the door when we moved in, so we used them everyday. But, here, we only have one regular door knob lock and a chain lock and that's it. Sometimes I wish we had more locks, since the crime rate is going up in our area. I guess they call it crimes of opportunity. And, as I always say, crime commutes, even in the best locations.
How many locks do you have on your front door or back door? Do you use all of the locks or just one on a daily basis?

I have a couple locks on my front door and they are rock solid and pick proof and everything. Of course I could sick my roommate on someone if they tried to break in. LOL It is always good to have at least two locks on the front door. Having an alarm system is better if you can afford more monthly rates. I use all my locks, even on the sliding glass door.

I have two locks on my door. One in the handle and a deadbolt. But even if someone broke in, I have five dogs that would be waiting to greet them and it might not be a happy meeting.lol

I have two on each, and they are always locked with the alarm on. My home was burglarized recently and I cannot make it easier for the criminals to get into my home. I am planning to upgrade my locks later on.

We have quite a few locks as we have a sliding glass door, our front door, the garage door, etc. I would have to stop and add all of these if you wanted to know how many for all of them, but for the front door we have 2 locks. The regular lock and then the deadlock. It really is nice to know there is good locks in place for our home for sure.

We have the lock on the doorknob, and a deadbolt on each of our doors to the outside. But we don't use the deadbolt on the door that my husband uses when he comes home in the mornings. We don't have a key to it, and my husband hasn't had time to change it yet. He works nights, and I hate not having the deadbolt done on that lock, but otherwise he would have to wake everyone up by calling or ringing the bell, and I don't want that, so we just don't use the deadbolt.
We do live in a small town with virually no crime, though, so that makes me feel much better.

Dear beautyqueen26, We used to lock our front door with two locks. Collabsible gate with one lock. These locks are name sake only. Here in our city, thieves would open any kind of locks. If necessary, they would remove the whole front door and get inside. Every day newspaper reports many kind of robbery. In one case with modern cutting equipment, the thieves made a square hole 2 x 2 feet on the front door and entered the house and robbed all the costly items. Within a few mintes they broken the 3 locks and entered the house. We never consider our locked door gives assurance that our house is safe.

We have a regular doorknob lock and a chain set high...they were here when we bought our home...we rarely even close the doors here let alone lock it...
I feel very fortunate to live in Northwestern Arkansas and our crime rate here is almost none existent...I love living here and would recommend this area to anyone who was looking for a wholesome place to raise their children or to retire...LOL

We have only one lock on our doors, the one built into the door knob. Our area has been relatively safe thus far. Because of that, some people in our area don't lock their houses when they leave. I always make sure our house is locked overnight or when we are away. Some people even lock their door during the day when they are home. I don't think that is necessary, but I guess it doesn't hurt either.

We only have one door, andthere are2 locks on it. they were there when we moved in. Most days, we don't even shut the inside door, which is the one with the locks, let alone lock it. in fact, often when I go to work early in the morning, I discover that we haven't even closed the door when we went to bed. its no biggie, If someone really wants in, a couple of locks isn't going to keep them out.

I live in a small town of only 6,000 people, but with all the crime you hear about the news it makes you paranoid. So we have to locks on each door, the regular lock and the deadbolt.
