Oldest Grandsons Visit

Next weekend I will have my oldest grandson spending it with me as I am taking him to the races mainly to see the Green Mamba Jet Car. It's a show where this bullet shaped car runs on a Jet engine. The man that does this travels all over the States putting on these displays etc. He also uses the thrusters to burn a couple cars to shreds as part of his show. he is going to love this. This is the link for Raceway Park where we go a lot during the spring summer & fall for various NASCAR races etc. I am looking forward to next Friday night.

Its always nice to spend time with family. It sounds like you and your grandson will be having lots of fun. I have never heard of the Green Mamba Jet car.

The Green Mamba Jet Car has been around since the 70's. The man that owns it set MANY land speed records with it. It blew up one year making him paralyzed from the waist down. That's when he quit the record attempts and started doing the traveling show. He travels all over the states each year. I've seen him maybe 15 times in my lifetime. It's a great demostration also. Here's a shot of him burning a car. I'll be hoping to get some good photo's next Friday when we go there.

They are trying to build a raceway here in our town. The city and county has approved it, the building has not started because the builders have not paid some fees. I think it is Nascar. I am worried about the air quality from all the tourests that will be coming into our town. We do need the industy and tourism, but to what cost to the enviroment.

If it's one of the supertracks then the air quality would be affected. But if it's just a local shorttrack then it shouldn't affect it much as it will more than likely be locals attending. Good luck with it also.

That looks really great. Your grandsons are lucky to have a grandpa like you who takes them to see such cool stuff.
I've seen a jet-car once. I went with some friends to watch the top-fuel dragsters one weekend. Drag racing isn't very popular here in the UK, I think there are only a couple of raceways in the whole country. The jet car did a run or two down the track, but didn't burn up any cars or anything cool like that.
I loved it when the dragsters were racing though. One of them broke the european record for fastest run the day we went. I was just amazed at the way the ground shook, my head rang with the nise and my eyes watered with the fuel vapours. It was fantastic. I'm sure your grandsons will love it.

Well the car burning is the main attraction for this event actaully. They turn all the lights off as it starts so you can see the pieces of the burning steel fly through the air. Cars stop along the highway to see this also.

wow I always though you lived with your two grandsons. is this oldest grandson one of them in the picture or another grandson?
i think he'll have a super time. boys are usually thrilled by this kind of thing. I've not seen somethign like this before, and can just imagine the burning of a couple of cars! sounds like hollywood.

The avatar is of me, my wife, and both grandsons. hunter (6) on the left and Tyler (9) on the right. they live with my daughter and her new husband. They stay with us a lot is all. I love them and take them wherever and whenever I can. Its hot loud and awesome to see in person. This will be Tylers first time seeing the Green Mamba Jet Car. I've taken him to see the Monster Truck Shows too.

It sounds like alot of fun. I just got done spending time with some of my grandkids. I love it, its so much fun being a grandparent. The kids are so precious. I have grandkids from 18 yrs to 2 yrs. and another on the way. My normal name online is grammasmagic, I would have used that name here but I wasn't sure what mylot was all about, I like to keep that name clean for business purposes. I sell on ebay with that name. I came up with the name with the help of the grandkids. My granddaughter always spelt gramma that way and the grandsons say I am magic.
