I worry a little, but always take precautions. I accept drinks only from the bartender after watching him pour/open them. I hold my drink at all times and keep it in front of my body as opposed to toward the side. I don't put my drink down for anything. If I do, it's because I'm leaving it and will not be returning to it.

my concern is that you go out to relax but cannot due to the level of alertness you need to maintain. it is a bad indietment of todays society

I do not worry about this much. Usually when I am out it is with my husband and close friends and I do not leave my drink unattended. For those who go out alone they should NEVER leave their drink unattended and really they should never go out alone. what if they got into trouble? Who would help them?

I used to go clubbing and such when I was younger, but I would never go alone anymore, or get separated from my friends. I'm really paranoid about that kind of thing even just going to bars or whatever where I live, because I've been in some really bad situations in my life and I don't want to have to deal with such things again.
I know girls that do go out alone, and do take a lot of risks, and I worry like crazy over them. =(

yeah, i understand. i do go out alone and my friends comment on this, but i was raised hard and a guy trying it on gets a real fright when you punch them in the goolies!! but i do not like this having to watch your drink all the time, downing it if you want to dance as you cannot leave it.
bad news

I was always careful with drinks when I went out because I got into a bit of an argument with a friend once about whose drink was whose and ended up taking the half empty glass as mine even though I knew mine was the nearly full one. So from then on I always held my glass/bottle and even took it to the loo with me - quite funny to balance it on the top when you are tiddly lol.
I have never accepted a drink from a stranger and I am reluctant to accept from friends - just one of my little quirks - but since rohypnol scares I am just a little more alert.

part of the fun of clubbing is the social scene in the toilets with the glasses balanced on sinks!

Yes I do worry about it, because it happened to me once beforen. Fortunately I was with my boyfriend so he made sure I got home safe. But I tell you I was really very sick the day after that. And the worst thing was, that it was a so called friend of mine who spiked my drink

I am not worried about too much since I do not go out to clubs or bars very often. I would not accept a drink from a stranger, especially if I was a female. It is difficult to trust anyone these days. I would only accept a drink given to me by the bartender or waitress and not anybody else. I think I did have a drink spiked on me once years ago when I was at a club. I felt really out of it and this girl was all over me shortly after drinking it. I am not complaining as she was gorgeous but even guys should be careful too.

my mom worries about that a lot. but i dont often go out to drink hehe, so its not a problem for me. but it does happen, you're drink gets spiked and its all downhill from there. i hope young people will learn how to keep themselves safe when drinking out. date rape is not a little thing to go through.

Yes, of course. Although I am a guy and not much spiking really happens, you can never be sure. It's better to be safe than sorry, so I always make sure that I am watching my drink and if I would ever have to leave to place for whatever reason, I would usually just be another drink. I'm sure at the end of the day, the cost for a new drink is worth if you take into considering the possible outcome and consequences that can occur if you are a victim of being spiked.

I have never ever worried about this. i mean, I also don't go out clubbing, just to bars. But I think that sort of thing is something that's done more on a private level than in a public place like a crowded bar, though I could be wrong.
I guess it's something that should be in your mind but not a major concern and uh... I Don't know.. I've never honestly worried about this in my life.
