Have you ever said "If I had a nickel for every time ________, I'd be rich by now!"
I know I've said it myself and have heard many other people say it too. Of course the blank may change from person to person, but the statement is usually applied to something that happens often. Do you remember the last time you said it? What was in the blank for you? Was it used in reference to something you enjoyed or disliked?
The last time I said it, I was doing laundry and matching socks. Oh boy, I hate matching socks, but if I got a nickel for each pair I matched, I'd be rich by now, lol. :)

I think it would have to be "If I had a nickel for every time my husband apologized for being late..." If you are going to be sorry and apologize, that means you won't do it again, right? And that is my response... "You're not sorry because you'll do it again in a heartbeat." Ugh!

Not always patgalca. I'm afraid I have to say it to hubby quite often, but no matter how hard I try, someone is always going to cause some kind of traffic problem to slow me down. In this case, I do suppose you'd be rich though, lol. :D

For me it's usually... If I had a nickel every time someone told me I'm short, I'd be rich by now.
I'm 4' 10" and I'm very aware that I'm short. But for some reason people seem to think I might not have caught onto that fact yet. So they insist in informing me "Jeez, you're short!"

LOL, like that would escape your attention.
One of my stepmothers was 4'8" and there was always quite a difference in height as my dad was 6'5". Anytime they were asked about her size, he would always say her legs were just as long as his. How, you might ask? Hers went from her bottom to the ground, just like his did. :D

If I had a nickel for everyday that I left the dishes for the next day boy I'd have a house with a dishwasher in it. That is the most depressing job in the world - no wonder I don't cook too much any more!!!!!

LOL, good one. I used to bribe my daughter to do the dishes for me if I had to work late. :)
