Need help finding a good storage space online for files

About eight months ago, my last computer got struck by lightening and stopped working within a week. And, with it, went all my little kids baby pictures as well as $1000 worth of software and ebooks. This is not the first computer to mysteriously stop working, so I can only assume that I am jinxed in some way. So, I'm sure it will happen to my current computer as well.
Next time I'd like to be prepared if possible. I'm looking for some sites online that allow free file upload or file sharing capability, so that I can upload all my family photos and important files. That way, they will be there waiting, just in case my computer stops working. I'd hate to think that I could make the same mistake for a third time.
Could you recommend a good file sharing or free file upload site where I could store photos and documents, i.e. text documents or ebooks? Would appreciate suggestions. Thanks!

I dont know any for files but I use Photobucket and Flicr to share photos. Good Luck and I am sooooo sorry!

you can create a gmail account for free and once you do that you can their Gmail Drive which you can store anything you want on it. I use mine so that between the 2 different locations that I always use the internet I have all my kids pics and everything else I might need so that I dont have to burn CD's with all this data or worry about forgeting it either place!
