How often do you ask people to check out your My Lot profile?

For the past few weeks I've heard lots of members requesting that others check out their My Lot profile. And, that's not really my style. I figure if someone wants to know which businesses that I'm associated with, they'll just click on my username and find out for themselves. Personally, I like the open invitation better than the direct invitation. Direct invitations to check out one's My Lot profile always seem sort of like spam. And, even though I'm sure they are perfectly legitimate, I'm always worried that they won't be adding good content to the site. So, I try to avoid them.
With that being said, how many times every month do you ask other members to check out your My Lot profile? Do you find that you get more sales or sign ups for your programs when you do so? Do you think that these types of requests should be treated as spam by the moderators and then deleted? What's your view on this?

I never ask people to check out my profile because my profile page is not that interesting. I dont have any businesses or anything like that and I didnt modify it except to add a couple of pictures.

I actually don't ever ask anyone to check mine out. Maybe I would get more responses lol if I did. I guess I fell that people that are really interested in the site or the topics I write about will check it out. Neber really gave it that much thought, but I do validate your concerns those are good reasons for not having people look at your profile.

I'm the same you. I don't invite others to see my mylot profile if they do and invite me to sign them up then I will but I really haven't looked for to many friends. I have gotten a few because I have something in comman with them other then that I don't ask others to look at my profile.

The only time I asked someome to check my profile, was for them to see the link to my blog. But most of the time, I write the link in the post.
So I never really aske for people to look at my profile. I don,t see why people do that.

I only just got in to edit my profile last week. I have never asked anyone to look at it! Even now, I have stuff there if people go looking for it but the only reason I'd direct someone there is if I wanted to direct them to all of my links at once. I try to keep my discussion more specific than that, so I can't think of a reason why I would but never say never.
I have seen a couple of people say, "The link is on my profile." To me, it would be at least as fast to type the URL but some people are not used to doing so. Also, folks have put a lot of work into their profiles (unlike me). I usually assume people who direct me to theirs are excited about some new toy or trick they've learned on it.

I never do this ever. *LOL*
I didn't put anything special on my profile anyways. *LOL*
I even forget to view my profile. *LOL*
I don't see the purpose of inviting people over my profile. They will take a look at it anyways if they find me interesting enough to spend some time with. Otherwise, why open the issue?
Plus, I don't really view profiles either. I just view profile to get to a topic or two that I remember the person who posted. *LOL*
So that's it with me. I don't invite people to view my profile.

I have never asked other members to check out my profile. I am new and all but I can't imagine why I would ask a member to look at my profile. They will if they are interested in what I am saying, I assume. I often do look at people's profile pages if I like what they have said or wonder about them but I wouldn't go look if someone REQUESTED me to unless there was a good reason for such a request.
I don't know if would be spam but I think it is a bit bothersome to be asked to look at someone's profile page.
I agree that the open invitation is best.
