How long does it take to get a response when you post a discussion?

Most days it only takes a matter of minutes to get my first response when I post a discussion. My friends on My Lot are always nice enough to respond when they can find a few minutes. But, some days I find that there are very few responses. And, on those days there's hardly anyone around to respond to discussions. I guess people get busy with their own lives and respond when they can. So, how long does it take you to get your first response when you post a discussions? Do you have to wait a very long time for your first response? Or, do you find that you get responses right away?

It depends on if the topic you start is intresting or not and how many people ar online and logged at that time. You could get aresponse right away or it could take a while.

It really depends for me I guess. I don't start discussions often enough that I notice typically, but I started three over the last 24 hours, which is very odd for me. One of them sat for almost an hour before a friend of mine got to it, but the others got responses pretty quickly. I know there are a lot of users (especially the newer ones) who only start discussions and never respond, so if those are the people that are on, there isn't going to be too much responding happening. Though I've found that it's pretty much guaranteed that if I go to bed or go out, by the time I get back I'll have responses. So I don't worry about it too much. =)

Yes, I've noticed the same thing too. Just after I posted this discussion, I took a little break to work on our airconditioner and when I checked back in traffic had picked up. Yesterday was really slow though. Today was not so bad. I'll check out your other discussion and see if I can make a dent in them.

As you say, Beauty, some days responses come within seconds, even, and others they take hours. I think timing has a lot to do with it and how many people are on the site when you post. If they don't see it on the first page, as soon as you've posted it, it can take a while until they look into their friends' discussions. Brightest Blessings.

Oh it really depends on the day and the topic really. Sometimes a post never gets a response and some get a reply within a minute's time.

If it is a more common topic, it probably takes about 10 minutes for a response. If it is more obscure, it takes about 30 minutes. But I found your discussion while I was on MyLot. If I checked my e-mail, I doubt I would have e-mail notifying me of this discussion. It seems to take mylot's system about 30 minutes before sending an e-mail notification.

I have found that I get at least one within a few minutes. The ones that surprise me are the responses I've gotten to discussion that I put up 3 months ago! But I do that too, sometimes I don't pay attention to how long ago the discussion was started but I found it interesting. I answered a discussion a couple of weeks ago that was like 6 months old, oh well. Nice surprise for the original poster.. LOL

It all depends on what the topic is- Sometimes it takes a whole day- sometimes mere minutes- Just like you said- sometimes mylot is really slow- I think it is getting slower day by day! Including me- My weekends are more full of activities- so I’m not on as much then- I respond far more than I start new discussions. I find it more fun! So look for me to respond to your discussions- just not sure how quickly!

YOu are lucky fellow, that people immediately start responding to your discusssions. In my case, the quickness of responses depends upon the nature and contents of the discussion. If the discussion evoke interest and seemingly easier, responses start coming in very quickly and if the discussions is seemingly a serious one, it takes times for responses to come. But my dear friends here are very very cooperative, they continue to reply to my discussions, even if they see the discussion, say after 4-5 days of its start. Good Post!

It usually depends on the question i am asking. Usually I get at least one or two within the first 30 minutes and or even sooner and then on one occasion I got nothing for days LOL it really depends on what the discussion is all about and whether it is easy to answer or not, or whether my friends can be bothered LOL

If I have a good and new discussion, sometimes I will receive a response after a few minutes. I am so surprised to it. I am glad to say that nowadays I have less post that have no response.

I am doing my discussion at night here when i come home from work. As far as i have seen.......it's 12 hours i think then i could have a response. However i take considerations that i got different hours from other people who join mylot. But of course it;s a pleasure for me to have that response. It shows somebody is reading my choosen topic for discussion. Hopefully there are more people who got interested to read and learn more about mylot. I love to read a lot of topics whinch interest me. Even my eyes are almost about to close yet i keep on reading interesting topics. What time you are reading or open mylot?

guess what, you should consider yourself lucky that if not much atleast a few responses are recovered for the discussion you started. In my case, I had started a few discussion which have not got a single reply. So what I do now a days is respond to discussion rather than starting a new one.

Mine changes every single time that I post a discussion, Some times its like instantaneously and others times it could be the next day before responses start to come through..

Sometimes I get a response right away, sometimes it takes a while. I usually get at least one or two before too long before though. If I don't get at least one within the first hour or so, I either usually end up going off somewhere else, whether to bed or out or whatever. When I come back on there are usually at least a couple. I have found a few times though when I haven't gotten much response at all. Oh well, I'm sure that it happens to all of us every now and then.

It all depends on many things. I know that i can post a discussion and wait days for the response, or i can post a discussion and after a an hour get a response. I really think that it depends on few things: It dependsif the post that i posted is really interesting. It depends if the post that i posted is "heavy" or "light" and in what mood people are in the first twenty four hours. And ofcourse it depends on the friends list.

its usually on the topic, sometimes,, if people are interested on the topic, they respond right away, and sometimes, when friends notices as you have said, they are kind enough to post a note to your topic. but i see your topics always, and with a lot of responses too. congrats :-)

I think it is very different eacht ime. It totally depends on the topic, it might not be interesting to others, or on the other hand it might.
