Since the 2003 attack on Iraq to stop the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein do you think it's time for U.S troops to go home and let Iraq be controlled by it's newly formed government? or continue to support for U.S to remain and help support the new Iraqi government? what is your opinion upon this issue?

In the first place, the coaliation governments should not have waged war. No body gave them permission. It is invasion to steal petrol. The time has come quite sometime ago to leave Iraq. No need to play a role of big brothers here. Iraqis are quite capable of handling themselves and they know how to govern their country.

As an American, I believe that the US should leave Iraq, there is no reason for us to be there anymore.

There is no way we could leave Iraq in shambles the way it is right now.
What I think we could try to do is to pull back along the borders
to prevent any outside influences or invasions from occuring while at the same time allow the people of that country to find there own equalibrium.
Our primary objective was to dethrone Saddam Hussein, which we accomplished.
I don't like the idea of the U.S. involved in their civil war for which we have no business. We should also consider using consultants to teach them how to rebuild their infrastructure rather then US tax dollars subsidizing outside contractors to do the work for them.If the Iraqi's were busy building bridges and schools and hospitals they wouldn't have time to pick up weapons and shoot each other.

yap friend you have a good point of not living Iraq now. yes i think in the current news what you have just said is what the U.S and the coalition troops are doing right now preventing other nation's bad influence to iraq. Especially those against the coalition team. maybe give more time for u.s troops to keep up peace between the civil war that is currently going on in iraq. try to help the iraqi to stand up in their own in reestablishing a good community rather than participating in this increasing civil war. i get your point. thanks for responding.

Hi joshboz! I agree with "ssh123" up there. They never found any mass destruction weapons as the US is claiming. I think President Bush is after the oil because I have watch a documentary about this and it was found out that the Bush family and friends has some business interest and affiliations involving oil. So sad, when people tries to help other people but the truth is they have hidden motives and interests why they are helping in the first place. Have a nice day and take care.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I think that we should pull our American forces out of Iraq. Let the people of Iraq run their own country. I think that we have our own problems here(border control,etc..) that we should be dealing with. To date we have lost 3707 American soldies and I think that that is 3707 too many! Not to mention the estimated 23000-100000 American soldiers that have been wounded. I think it needs to STOP now!

I think leaving now would leave Iraq in a worse situation so that in the future, some dictator like Saddam will take over. The people there are not used to democracies, and once the troops leave there will be infighting among the religious sects, with one group massacring members of the opposing group, etc.
This is not because the U.S. troops are there, but because this has always has been and until they get a semblance of democracy, the coalition cannot leave. Not only that, they have to be careful that the president or leader they choose does not PRETEND to be democratic as I suppose Saddam did at first. So they have to be sure the president does not as soon as they leave, decide to massacre all his rivals and become worse than Saddam was himself.

Wingedman, made the same point I wanted to. what has taken place in Iraq, despite apearences, when put in to perspective, is nothing short of miraculaous. They got in 4 years where we still were at the point of our civil war. There is an old saying that goes "one should never watch sausage or democrocy being made".
