When you have faith, you have hope. When you have hope you have everything! I believe this is true. When people don't have faith there can be no hope because they have nothing to hang on to or for. What do you believe about this statement?

Dear jillhill, Those who have a positive thinking will always hope for the betterment of their future. You are right. The people of the whole world living with a hope that they will have bright future. Even at the end of their life they believe that they would live. That is called hope. Without kindling the fire of hope, the life would be hopeless. Therefore everybody should hope something in life to order to keep the life happy.

I agree that faith gives us hope and that is important. As to where you place your faith is your choice.

When thinking about faith consider the words of Alan Watts. "Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe, becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."

I think you are way off base. I have no faith in god as I don't believe in god. I only rely on myself and I have lots of hope. I assume you mean faith in god. I have faith in myself and my man but I think you mean the sky goblin.

To each their own. I meant faith as in something to believe in. Glad you have yourself and your man to believe in.
