Should you give money to beggars?

I passed the same road everyday and I got to see the same beggars begging early in the morning. I only give when I have some loose change. I know it's not their fault why they are on the streets but are we helping them by giving them money or are we teaching them to be lazy?

No,i never give money to beggars!I think they are ability to work,but they don't!Of course,i help the people who need help truely!

I don't usually give money to them. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if they are truly in need or are just scamming. A few years back there was a person in the parking lot of a local grocery store with a sign that said "will work for food". My aunt felt sorry for him and bought him a sandwich and a cool drink inside. When she went to give it to him he got angry at her and said "I don't want food!". Hmmm. That was a learning experience for me.
