should cellphone must be banned in professional colleges?

Today cellphone is the device which attracts every youth.It revolitisenesed the social community.It increase our ecnomic power.but today is the great debate is whether allowed to use cellphones in colleges.Why this argument comes?
students spend most of the time with this by sending sms and chatting.not only
for this ,some of the guys catch girls on their camera in the idiotic manner and share the pic

I think that cells should not be banned but students should not be allowed to use them during the lectures. If a professor catches a student using a cell, he should have the right to confiscate the same and the cell should only be given back at the end of the term.

For me,it should be banned because it is a fact that it can destroy students' studies.But cellphones must be prohibited only inside the campus especially inside the classrooms in session, and students can use their cellphones outside the campus because we to admit also that cellphones are useful now in our daily lives.

I guess this observation is not true in all campuses and cultures...I am a professor in a university, and our students are allowed to bring their cellphones, and so far, we don't have problems because our students are resposible phone users...in fact, when there's a class, they don't use the gadget unless they're expecting an important call from their families...we just have to educate our students; by now, I'n happy that they are disciplined especially when it comes to cellphone use...
