myLot members MEET face-to-face?

Imagine if you were invited to a party hosted by myLotters in your area! Everyone would have name tags with their "handles" printed on them - maybe even their avatars. Finally, a chance to put faces to all the mysterious and clever names! Finally, a chance to meet, in person, the wonderful people whose opinions and thoughts you've shared on so very many subjects. Would you do it? Would you go? Part of me thinks that it would be great, maybe even natural, to take the chance that "real" life friendships might develop. After all, some of us are more honest and soul-searching here, on these pages, than any where else in our lives. Yet, it's this same intimacy that makes me think that I probably wouldn't attend such a party. Maybe the openness and mystique of NOT knowing each other face-to-face is the real magic of myLot. What do you feel? Would you go or not?

Why, thank you, milott! That makes this my official "innovative and cool idea" day. I, too, dig the idea of making "real" friends and connections rather than the sterile world of cyber-space. Then, on the other hand, maybe friendships work here because there are no unreal expectations. For example, I don't expect you to remember my birthday with a card and you don't expect me to call you every Wednesday night. You know, I think this may be the first discussion I've had that I've been so wishy-washy! Usually, I'm opionated almost to a fault. lol
I can actually visualize a myLot party or even a convention. I wouldn't be surprised if we see one, once myLot figures out how to get it sponsored profitably!

I would go. Since we will be meeting those only around our area it still leaves all the other mylotters to wonder about. If everyone could attend that is an active member on here then that would be great. It probably wouldn't happen but I think it would be fun.

Yet another good point for having the party - looks like the 'cons' are losing. :-) I guess if we were to have a mass myLot party or convention, as it were, we'd have to have one on virtually every continent in order to be fair. We could have the one in the US somewhere like Vegas, but then that wouldn't be fair to our underaged members. Maybe a series of myLot parties could be hosted across the globe. Videos and photos could be posted. It sounds like fun but, believe it or not, I'm still not sure that I would go. lol

If mylot will hold a grand eye-ball, count me in! i love meeting people, i love having new friends, i can't let such opportunity pass. I love my friends here in mylot and there are a lot of people here whom i admire when it comes to responding as well as posting discussions
