Why is today so special to me?
A year ago my hubby was due to see the heart surgeon he was having terrible angina pains ( we thought ) I begged him to go see the DR as I was really worried , he refused at first because he had an appointment in a few weeks time with the cardiologist , In the end he went but really only to please me , Our Doctor sent him straight into hospital , they then sent him to the western hospital in Glasgow , they found out he has suffered another heart attack ( his forth , They tried to clear out the arteries with angioplasty , but they were too blocked and it would be too dangerous , so they let him rest for a few days then sent him to the theatre for a triple heart bypass operation , That was on the 8th of August last year . he woke up tater that night , he had never had an operation and when he came to with the tube i his throat and couldn't speak he panicked and burst some of his stitches , he had to be taken back to theatre have clots removed and sewn up again , they decided to keep him sedated for 5 days in case this happened again ,anyway they slowly brought him too day by day and ONE YEAR TODAY at 3 :30 as I am writing this he came back to us , he was well out of it and it was funny as he was sure the surgeon hadn't given him the right feet , we couldn't laugh as it was the drugs , but he was so adamant that his feet were not his , we laugh about it now , I look at him every day and thank God for giving him back to us , he might need more ops as he has enlarged arteries in his groin and tummy , but we will cross those bridges when we come to them , I am just so happy today and I wanted to share it with my friends , xx

That's a great and touching story. I'm sure your hubby knows how much luck he has with you as his wife. You got another chance and I'm sure you used every single minute of it to enjoy life. Glad it worked fine and may many years go by without anything bad happen! ;-)

Well thank God that they could do the by pass. My mother was basically told that because she is so small and her arteries are very small that she couldn't do it. Well they sent her to a specialist who was horrible and she wouldn't let him touch her.

That's a great True Story. And you are a very caring person, indeed. Your husband is blessed to have you in his life. And you are blessed to have him, of course. There should be more people like you -- one who cares more about a person, rather than property. You have made my day. Thank you for sharing your story.

What an inspiring story! It's times like these we learn how special someone is to us. I'm glad things went well. Too funny about the feet! Happy 1 year Anniversary!

Oh, the roads you travel with life partners and friends. Some you choose, some you would never choose, but you stick it out, even when the going is almost all uphill, because you are walking with a life partner. I do not blame you for celebrating today. I am glad that looking back you can laugh at him having the wrong feet. I am wishing you many days of laughter around the bend in the road of life.

I'm so glad he's still with you hon! I know the anguish and terror as we had a similar incident last year ourselves and my hubby had to go in for an emergency angioplasty and stent.
You find out the hard way just how precious every minute together is when you almost lose them. It's too bad people don't think about how precious their loved ones are all the time. Things that used to seem worth fighting about don't matter a bit now.
I wish you both many many more happy and loving years together!
