bleaching childrens teeth

I am a new mom and was wondering what the general consensus about bleaching small childrens teeth. I don't think I would want that potent of chemicals in my son's mouth unless it was absolutely necessary. I may seem naive but I don't think it would be that hard to keep my son's teeth from rotting, with a little preventative care. I wonder if some children's teeth are more prone to rotting than others? I found myself dwelling on this subject after watching the news where they were reporting that Britney had taken one of her son's to the dentist to get his teeth bleached because they were rotting. I don't want to jump to conclusions, like I said I am a new mom (not an expert)but it seemed really negligent of her to let her son's teeth rot.

I don't think this is a good idea. Rotting children teeth is normal process. You don't need to bleach them. It may cause some problems with young children.

After your children get permanent teeth then you need to pay more attention to their teeth. Some children teeth rot nomatter what. I'm no expert so maybe a dentist could explain this better.

Some kids teeth do rot naturally. Bleaching them yuch. There is peroxide in that stuff. My daughter cut her gum severely once and i poured peroxide on the cut in her mouth (in a panic) The dentist told me it was a good idea but i could have used a qtip. It wasn't particularly good for her. He probably meant are you an idiot you could have killed her!
