Firstly I would just try to be her friend, know what she likes, then with A LOT of courage I would ask her out and hope she don't reply with a big "No"

It depends if you sense that she has feelings for you too. You don't want to make things awkward or risk messing up the friendship if you're already friends. If you're really into her though and really want to be with her I think you should give it a try. Make sure you're friends first though. I hope things work out! :)
