The Black cats - Do they mean bad luck?

In many cultures, black cats are actually lucky. I have 4, I can't immagine how bad my luck would be with out my lucky cats. In fact, since the 2 newest ones came around xmas, I've had more good luck than I've had in a long time. And the one I rescued off the streets on Halloween, was the first one I placed in a new home thru the rescue group!

I have three pure black cats and they have brought me nothing but the best of luck. They are the sweetest animals I have ever had as pets. I don't see why people think they are unlucky.

i don't think that black cats are bad luck either. we've had cats and kittens all our lives and almost always atleast one black one. we've never had bad luck, atleast not any more than anyone else. we have 2 black kittens now and things seem to be going good so far.

I used to have 7 black cats. The only occasion it was not lucky was when I had to vaccinate them. It was hard to tell which one had already been vaccinated :)

Yeah, the color of the cat doesn't say much.. What is someone made a orange cat black..? Would it bring bad luck then..? I like black cats, my favorite cat color.

Bad luck my big toe. I love black cats and have had quite a few in my family. The only thing bad about a black cat is the hair if you have white furniture. If they bring you joy and love then where is the bad luck in that?

In England, black cats are considered to be lucky. They bring us good fortune. Brides are given "lucky black cats" on their wedding day, and their pictures adorn good luck cards for exams and driving tests. If a black cat crosses your path, then you will have gooc health and find some money:-))

I think it is stupid, too. I've got a black cat, and she's brought me nothing but good luck.

No human or animal that's god created with bad luck.If we not luck today it is because god make it as our fate.

I think that it's just a silly superstition. Black cats have nothing to do with luck. I've had black cats before and my luck was the same then as when I didn't have any black cats.

i have a black kitten (and a black dog too), so black it's hard to see [them] at night.^_^ i'm not yet aware whether my kitten brings bad or good luck but you know i don't really believe in that. the reason why i get scared of black cats before is because they appear in front of you from nowhere, while all cats do the same, i can only see the eyes of black cats at night. it's freaky until you realized it's a cat. i think pets of pure black (and also pure white) color are the coolest kinds.^_^ anything other than that are just ordinary. aheheheh...

Cats are cats... one isn't necessarily any worse luck than another :) I think the superstition about black cats comes from the times when people still believed that demons and evil spirits took the form of black cats, crows, and wolves to terrorize the countryside. Nowadays we generally know better, but superstitions like that have survived for centuries and our great grandchildren will probably still have them, like Santa or the bogeyman.

All I know is that black cats can live longer than any other cats... and they can give comfort for loners such as myself... About them being "bad-luck" well i don't believe it since my cats were cross breed with Siamese cats...

I've had cats ever since I was five years old and have always had black cats, in fact my very first cat was black, Babette--I now have my Pyewacket..and here's a photo of him... Of all the black cats I've had, I swear that my Pyewacket has brought a tremendous amount of GOOD luck into my life. So I obviously have no superstitions or fears about black cats--did you know that the most sacred of all cats in Ancient Egypt was the black cat?

I have 2 pure black cats, right now, Pesto and Blackie. Pesto is shorthaired and Blackie is long haired. They are such wonderful cats. I just love them both, so much. I don't believe the color of a cat, is bad luck. Not at all.

This is a big NO :) I have 3 cats and one of them is totally black he is the greatest cat i've ever had. Clean and lovefull. And never brought us a bad luck. How some a color is name as a bad luck :) These kind of things are very funny. I loved your cats picture it looks like mine but mine has a little smaller face. Have a great day

I dont believe that either, I have a black cat and I havent had any more or less bad luck since I got him. Black cats are cool pets!

cats are cool pets and it was just correlated with bad luck since black cats seem like good pets for witches, it was just superstition and I think they dont really bring bad luck.

I dont believe on things like this.It is just myth.
