and I must say I like the movies better. The books have of course a lot more details, but I like how the movies changed a few of the parts. I've only read Harry Potter and the Sourcer's Stone but I'm more than 1/2 way through the Chamber of Secrets and I'm still appreciating the movies more. The movies actually show off Hermoine's talents rather than in the book they just have her studying all the time. I don't know, maybe its just me, or maybe its because I watched the books first, but I'll give the books another chance. Maybe as I get further in the series, I'll learn to appreciate them more!! How do the rest of you feel about the books vs. the movies???

I am just like you. I LOVE the movies. I actually had the first HP book read to me by my teacher. But then I saw the 5th movie & realized I was out of the loop when all the people I went with started talking about the book & how it would be different. Now I have skipped books 2-5 & have almost finished number 6. I thought I would hate it, but suprisingly I like it. A lot more lovey dovey stuff.
PS I notice that Hermoine always says the clever lines in the movies when in the book it's usually Ron who says them. The book makes Ron look like an idiot. Plus, Hermione is way hotter in the movies....

I watched HP1 and HP2 before reading any of the books and I really liked them. Then i got curious as to how different the movies are from the book so I bought the box set from HP1 to HP5 and i got hooked into reading all 5 books and i bought HP6 immediately after finishing the first 5. I love watching movies but i love also love reading but with the Harry Potter series, i would rather read than watch...
