Yes I suppose it's one of those things that you feel you should try given the opportunity. I just can't believe people pay so much money for the stuff (I didn't pay for it!) but I guess someone must like it.

Probably - but I've never understood why people try to acquire a taste for something if they don't have to eat it.

I think people do like it, but I tend to think it's an acquired taste. Don't you?

I think that it is exactly as you can expect it to be... they are fish-eggs so they stink like fish and taste like eggs.

That's a pretty good description although they don't taste like any other eggs I've ever eaten!

It's very over-rated, can't understand the appeal of people wanting to eat fish eggs, the thought makes my stomach churn.

never have never will, I can only imagine how horrid it must be, but some people must like it or they wouldn't make it so I guess everyone's tastes differ...

Yes some people responding to this discussion like it so I guess it's just down to personal taste. Thanks for your response.

I tried it once too. I didn't buy it myself, but a teacher of mine actually brought it in to class one day and had us try a little. I absolutely hated it! I would never try it again.

Yes I've heard it's much cheaper in Russia and I think also that's where it originated from although I could be wrong there. Thanks for your response.

No I never really wanted to but I was at a fancy dinner party and felt obliged to at least taste it. Managed to resist spitting it back out again but it was a close call! Thanks for your response.

No, I never have. I'm not sure I would ever try either. Some things should just not be edible.
