How many times in your life have you moved? This includes within the same city or even to a new state or country.
I did the math and in my 26 years on earth I have moved 36 times!!! Hard to believe isn't it? It hasn't all been one after the other either, I can remember some places where I lived for four years and others where it was maybe 6 months. My mother says we must have Gypsy blood, lol.

Wow I actually had to take out a sheet of notebook paper and write down every place I've ever lived. I have moved a total of 57 times in my life. Out of that 57, 17 moves were done before I was 18. I am now 28 almost 29. Let me tell ya moving so much does make it hard to make and keep friends. Most of those moves were from town to town, a few were from country to country. Whats funny is I'll probably be moving from where I am here in a month or two.(mostly cause I need a bigger place)

I think my hardest move was when I was moving from Japan back stateside. I realized at that point I had way to much crap. I had about 6 boxes with just shoes in them. After that I stoped buying shoes so much, I use to buy a new pair every payday. That stops when you have to move all that crap from one country to another. What really sucks about moving so much is I tend to lose random things and have to keep replacing stuff.

Wow, you sound like me, when I moved cross country I realized that I owned far too much crap. I realized I might just have a shopping problem when I couldn't get all my stuff into the biggest truck uhaul had, lol. It's helped me to think twice before buying more stuff... yes I still buy i all but at least now I think twice about it first, lol.

I just about passed out just thinking about it! That is a lot of moving and you are soooo brave to even think about doing it again. After this last one I decided that if it can't fit in my pockets... then it stays behind because I could so never do it again.

Wow, you definitely move way more often than I am. I think I have only moved 3 times in my life and I am really glad because I don't want to do the packing and unpacking again and again. It just kills too many brain cells. I definitely hate moving and especially now I have all my crystal collection sitting at home, and too many books, clothes and stuff like that. I think I would be in a super bad move if I really have to move to some places else.

Yes what a hassle to move things around and try to arrange them nicely. And the most frustrating thing is you think that you have organized one category nicely but then you find out more items in other boxes! It's just never-ending.

That is so true! I hate the whole process. I'm already dreading having to do it in a couple of years once I buy a house... which of course will surely be because we've made it rich online, lol. I'm convinced of it!

LOL I hate it too! I hate it so much that I always wait until the day before or day of to pack!!! I always end up just hauling things over from one place to the other for a week in the car because I didn't pack. I just hate it, you're right it does take too much effort and kills brain cells. Then when you move the one thing or box you need always ends up being the box that's under like 50 other boxes. It's fustrating just remembering it all, lol.

First off.. that is the cutest picture ever of a cat! I wish mine would let me do something like that but she'd sooner kill me first, lol.
That is a lot of moving around, I totally feel you. It can be such a pain in the butt and sometimes you just want that stability that comes from being in only one place.

it took me a couple of minutes to think about the places i have lived in since i left home at 16. since going off to the university, i have lived in 23 different places in 10 cities, one of which is out of the country. i usually stay for a few months to a year in each of these places, as my work requires frequent travel. :)

Holy Moly --you've moved 36 times in 26 years...Yikes...Well I guess the grand total for me is only two actually. The first when I was only a year and a half years old, shortly after my parents got divorced...my moom and I moved into my great-grandmother's apartment...so it was me, my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all living under one roof...yeesh, four generations of women!! Then in 1961 my mom, grandmother and I moved out of her place to where I still am presently--once I make my grand fortune believe me I hope to move to my dream home

That must have been hard for you as a kid though...as soon as you got settled met, new friends, and got used to a new school, I guess off you went again, right?

Yeah I know, and for someone with the world's worst sense of direction it's not fun, lol. As soon as I can remember where I live... we move. We're tired though and just can't do it anymore so the next move I hope will be into our dream home as well. I think it's cool that you had all those generations in one house! When I was a baby we lived with my grandmother for a while and oddly enough I can remember bits and pieces of that. Grandmas are the best!

Yeah it was pretty much like that and of course since I didn't know any better I just thought it was normal. It sucked a$$ but at the same time was fun. I've lived in some great places from litterally having the ocean as a back yard to being in the middle of a busy city to out in the country and now in between. It didn't really bug me until lately when I've thought about wanting my own kids and I want them to have the stability and comfort of always knowing where "home" is.

Right from my childhood till now, I have shifted my house a lot of times, be it in the same city or even in a different one, mostly because of my dad's transfers. Might have shifted around 10 times at least.
And I must admit, traveling from one place to the other and trying to settle immediately was a challenge when we were young specially because our schools used to get changed. New school, new teachers, new friends, new books, new place, etc. so it was tough at times.I still remember I used to cry so much when i changed schools as i used to miss my school friends from the previous school a lot :(
Visiting new places and living there is fun, and when you get bored with the city ...lol...it's better to move on. ;)

I can understand that completely, it was always tough for me too when changing schools and missing all my friends. And yeah there is a certain fun aspect to not feeling like you're tied down to any one place, it's made me learn how to fit in just about anywhere too.

That's a lot of moving! I'll be 25 in a couple of weeks. I've moved 12 times. All but two have been since I turned 17, though. My parents don't like to move, so we only moved a couple of times while I was growing up, and it was all within the same city.
Then I got older, and decided on my own that I wanted to move out. The longest I've stayed put in any house since then was 2 years and 2 months, in our house on base. My husband and I just bought a house, though, so hopefully we won't be moving again anytime soon!

Yeah it is a lot! I hope you get to stay in your house for a long while and enjoy it. I know what a pain moving can be, next time I'll either hire movers or stuff my pockets and that's all that's coming with me, lol.

I have moved over 20 times during my life and enjoyed each one; some were more fun than others but had a chance to visit and become a community in several eastern states. Was out in California for several years and now am in the south, which is my very favorite location. Moving can be stressful but the benefits far outweigh the stress.

I'm glad you've enjoyed it. It is nice to become a member of different communities. The South in my favorite too, I miss the Northeast but I wouldn't trade the South in for nothing!

Wow! That is a lot of moving. As for me, I think I have moved from one place to another about five times and that is in a span of 8 years. Now that I have my own rented place I do not feel like moving once again because it would be too much of a hassle because of all the things that I have accumulated in my years of stay here in Manila.

It is a lot, lol and I can totally understand feeling like you don't want to do it again. I plan to move only once more and that is when I buy my own house in 3 years. It can be a big hassle and so tiring, I hate moving.

I feel you. I have moved all over for my whole life. The house I live in now is the one that I have lived in the longest in my married life. I also moved frequently in my childhood years. I have lived where I am now for 5 years. Hopefully I will not have to move again.
For a total of how many times I have moved in my lifetime would have to be OMG 46 times. I can not believe I have moved that many times. So glad I am not doing it again.

LOL, whoa is right! It's so many times that I can't remember them all! I love the idea of just 2 moves, it sounds so sane and normal, lol. I hope to move maybe one to two more times and that's it.
