No, I haven't been affraid of the dark for longer than I can remember, but I am very nervous about going outside after dark. I've been muggged twice in the past 3 years so the times I go out after dark are ones where it's a necessity. Being affraid of the dark in itself is just not knowing what is out there...the unknown=fear.

I am afraid of the dark, but I can sleep with or without lights. In the dark I just close my eyes, pray to God and ask for His protection.
in my mind, various monstrous activities happen but I still pray that God would not allow that thing in my mind to occur.

No I'm not scared of the dark but my son is scared, he's 8 years old and for some reason lights being off in my house is a no no... So I keep a light on for him so he isn't scared.. He always has a flash light in case the lights go out... I don't understand though what ever cause him to be so scared... Could it of been sense he has been a baby there's always been a light on for him and he's so used to it, he's scared to have it off? I am thinking that might be it though.. I don't know why though people are scared of the dark.. I know I'm not I think I sleep better that way, but than again I'm afraid someone might jump out at me...lol

I have always been afraid of the dark. When I was younger more so, but even now I hate to think what could be in the dark and my imagination gets the best of me. I am ok when with my husband in the house, I dont get scared but if he wasnt there I would leave lights on and probably the tv as to not hear noises that I then imagine to be somethng creepy. I have to act brave around our four year old son though as I dont want to make him more scared of the dark than he is. He sleeps with a night light on.

I always want to sleep with lights off. Although I can manage to sleep with lights on too. I think what gives me the courage not to be afraid is my faith in God.
Whenever my senses starts to ignite fear I always remember this lines from the bible: "God work for good to those who love Him". It really can erase any kind of fear for me. Specially nowadays when I usually stay alone at home.
It really ok to be alone in the dark. Because we are never alone, God is within us. He can protect us from every evil. GOD bless!

I have fear of the darkXD Sometimes when I am feeling spooky, I don't go to bed until I know that I will just put my head in the bed and sleep:) But other times I just like to think, and can be for hours in the dark and I don't fear of the dark, Just think about something that U could think of and feel comfortable*Like something good that happened you that days, or crushes:)LOL. Sometimes I feel that some1 is behind me and will kill me, I get nervous and almost run/jog to get the lights onXD
