My husband and I pray before we have our meal. We thank the Lord for His provisions, for not allowing us to skip a single meal, for tyhe good health and life that we enjoy...What about you? do you also pray before you eat?

Unfortunately, this is a very good habit that I have yet to form. I am ashamed to admit that I do not pray before every meal.

Since I have gone back to church I have done so. I used to pray before every meal, but when I left the church I quit doing it and now I have started doing it again. I know I should thank the Lord for his provisions regardless but I got out of the habit of doing so, now I try harder to make it a point to do this.

During friends gathering or normal dinner my christian friends do saying prayers before taking meal. Though I am not a christian I will remain quiet and respectfully until they have finished praying. Then we enjoy our meal happily and amicably. Personally I believe this is a good practice as we usually express our gratitude towards somebody who is kind, caring and provides much benefits and fortune for us.

I don't have a husband now but I do teach my children to pray before meal or if we ate individually coz sometimes they are in school in times of lunch I told them always say a little thanks for the blessing and food that we have eaten.

Definitely, regularly, We thank God for the food He has given us as well the health to enjoy it and digest it. With each meal He gives us strength to do our daily work, satisfaction and enjoyment. He has made so many different types of things to eat to suit each mood and personal taste. These are just a few things for which we should thank Him.

I pray when I pick plants from my garden or gather wild food. I thank the plants for coming to me. I thank the Great Spirit and Mother Earth for providing them for me. I tell the plant that I am picking it for food, medicine, dye, soap, or whatever. I give part of me (a stand of hair) for part of the plant, an exchange. If I am with others who pray before the meal, then I pray before the meal. But I like most to pray before I take the life of something so that it knows it will not be dying in vain. Ideally, someday, almost all my food will be gathered. But there isn't any selenium in our soil, so I will still have to buy vitamins or get a heavy source of selenium from somewhere else.
