I use Gain liquid fabric softener in the washer because it smells so good, but I use the Gain dryer sheets in my drawers and closet to keep my clothes smelling fresh. Another use for the dryer sheets is to place one on you air conditioner filter and it freshens your entire house!

I use baking soda and water solution in one of those downy balls, much cheaper, and better for the envionment!! Vinergar may also be used. Dont worry the smell goes away after clothes are dry!!

I also use the Downy ball with whatever liquid softener I am using. I hadn't thought of using baking soda or vinegar. I was considering the reusable balls for the dryer, but may try these instead. Thank you.

yes, you could use the balls with this also!!
Make a solution with the baking soda, or use the vinegar, alo lemon juice and peroxide with water is a substitute for bleach!!
try the lemon juice on kids stains where you are afraid to use bleach!

I used to swear by dryer sheets but now I love the liquid softener. We got a washer with a softener dispenser and it makes the clotes so much softer and they smell great. I was always forgetting the dryer sheet. Then I'd have clingy clothes. Ugh!!

One benefit of dryer sheets is that they can be reused once or twice. However, if you use these, you have to remember to wash out the dryer vent abount once a month. You have to scrub it, or you could burn your house down.

I don't use any fabric softener, but my mum use to use the dryer sheets. I have been wanting to use these for so long but can not find any! I hope they still have them here (in australia).
I can remember my mum used to use the apple scented ones and they smelt so nice!

I love the liquid stuff! I have always loved the "clean laundry smell" and found out through the years that dryer sheets don't necessarily do that. When I was 18, I found out what the downy ball was. It was a life saver! I loved it. I used tide with bleach and downy. It made my clothes smell like heaven! I will admit that I tend to use more than recommended because I love the smell. I even used it loooong before "febreeze" happened. I loved that smell so much that I had even used it on the rince cycle after shampooing my carpets. To be honest, today, I use the sheets. It's cheaper, and we have too many people in the house to care what smells like what anymore...ah...memories of the single life. We sometimes use the sheets in the car, or vents at home, in drawers, in the trashcans, you name it. I guess they are both good for something!

I used dryer sheets for the longest time just because that's what my mom always used. Then I received a free sample and tried the liquid.
Liquid is also a lot easier to remember. And if you forget the liquid you can still put the sheet in the dryer for a last resort.
