I have always wondered this...is it water or celery? They always say that celery has a negative calorie count and well what is water?

I think the thing abour "negative energy" is fake :-) One kilo-calorie is energy, which is needed to boil a litre of water about one degree of celsius :-D So it is 4.2 kJ :-D (because temperature coeficient of water is RIGHT 4.2...) :-D And I think no food can have negative energy, because... because this must mean food give you an energy via food processes (burn sugars). But burn sugars are EVERYTIME reaction, which have to have additive energy (e.g. temperature most). :-D So... I think, the best is Water :-D But this is only my opinion - if you think different, I'd like read your opinion :-D

You have it...celery doesn't have negative calories because it doesn't take you more energy to burn to eat it. Water is right...and a stalk of celery is 6 calories. I just wrote an article about it yesterday. :)

Have I got right? :-) Oh... That is nice... even because I am not chemically-studied, but only technician (electriotechnical .. things..) :-D So thanks :-D Where do you have your text about it? I mean the article you've talken about :-D Do you know some other "people-rights"? .-D Something like "when you burn yourself, use butter on burnplace" and other stupidities :-D I like to know people think and it is interresting to listen some people, when they BELIEVE if they eat bubble-gum, they will have broken stomach or something... :-D :-D

..water is zero.. but I read there was eight in celery (but maybe it takes eight calories to digest it?) Hmmm.. yet water, if you burn calories, washes them away.. hmmm.. I'm stumped! Maybe it's a tie!:)

http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=148 Water has zero calories and celery has negative calories. Drinking water is essential to a good life.

I live now you would never see anyone watering their grass. No sprinklers or hoses on it. It rain enough the grass is always fine. But in Toronto I used to see lots of sprinklers watering the grass. Less rain there than Nova Scotia I think.
