Now a days a slogan is spreading throughout the world. That is "Say 'no' to memorizing. Is it good students? Is it really possible to study without memorizing? Just understanding a thing is enough to learn something? Does memorizing harms the creativity of a student? what is your opinion?

im no good on memorizing EVEr! that is why im not good in history, spelling, and science! im good on mathematics since i dont have to memorize anything.. i just have to analyze and understand!
maybe memorizing is sometimes good.. it depends on the subject.. historians need to memorize but also analyze to conclude events. biologists even need to memorize and even teachers.
instead of saying "No to memorizing" and posting slogans like that.. teachers must discover new way of giving test to force students to analyze and to understand the lessons..

i hate to memorize words and numbers. i would rather get a better understanding of a passage/topic and put it in my own words.. memorizing notes and numbers is such a chore..

Now here is a top that I feel stronly about, I went through school hating every single moment I spent there, simply because I couldn't cope as I don't and never did have a good memory, we were told to study and were tested on things that were never any use once school was finished,
I believe things should be told to students but to have to be tested on stupid things that are no use to you is a waste of time...Today I can stand next to people who have good memories and they have certificates but me the dumb one at school have dome better than them, I learnt from my parents common sense and that counts for more than what they teach people to study at school.
