personally i call my parent by their first names. I will give my kid the option to let her call me whatever she wants. If she feels I as a father had earned the title to be called "dad" then so be it if not, am cool with it as well.
I believe respect is earned not given. And I would rather let my kid call me with a term that she feels I have earned, and not dictated by society or status quo.

I call my mother, "Nanay" and my father, "Tatay". That's what I knew while growing up. But when I started to be with my friend, who calls her mother, Mommy, I started calling my mom, "Mama". But then Nanay and Tatay sound very homey. Now that we're all grown ups, we have different nicks and terms of endearment such as 'Modz' for my mother and "Bobi" for my father.
As for my kid, we want her to call us Mommy and Daddy.

Hi! I didn't know that you voted me as the "best response" till now. Thank you so much!
Yeah, I miss calling my mom, Nanay since I now live with my boyfriend together with our daughter. I call her through cellphone sometimes, and text her. But I would love to see her often so she can play with my daughter.
My nieces and nephews call her Nanay also, instead of Lola. It's really very homey, and I'm proud to have a Nanay everybody loves.
I still call my father, Tatay. I miss him too. But I usually call him Bobi, cuz it's very funny. hehe!

My 2 oldest boys call me mom and my husband dad. My 3rd boy calles me mother and my husband dad. My daughter calles me mommy and my husband daddy.
When the older boys want to be smart, they will call my husband Leeboy. I don't exactly know when this started, but every once in a while it comes up. Just for jokes, not any disrespect.

Hi, i think each child calls their parents by various names, papa, mama, mummy-daddy, pops-moms, etc and it all depends from family to family, and how the kids are taught to call their parents, but yes at times when the kids cannot pronounce things correct, some short forms or pet names are given instead which carry on till the end, those also sound sweet to the parents, so it all depends on what and how the family and the parents- kids relationship is. I call my parents papa-mama and so do my kids call us, as generally thats what i will teach my kids to call me too, but there can be changes too.

I call my Mom, Mom and Dad, Dad.. Though my father is no longer here I still use the term dad.. Like My dad or when I am talking to my mom I will say Dad.. It's always been a habit of mine I guess... My son though calls me mom and my husband dad.. He did one time call me by my first name but that was when everyone did that dad.. I let it go but told him to start calling me mom..lol

My son is only 18 months old. He usually calls us Mommy and Daddy, but sometimes he calls my husband Mommy, too. lol It drives my husband crazy, but I think it's funny. Our son is used to me being the one to do things for him, so sometimes when my husband hands him something or does something for him, our son says "Dangs (Thanks) Mommy!" My husband says "Your Welcome, but I'm Daddy!" and Elliott just smiles. It's really cute.

Interesting Post!
I thinkg Mummy and Papa are most common for addressing our parents. I call my mother Mummy and my father Papa, and same is being followed by our kids (some of the people replace the word 'Papa' with 'Daddy').
More important is how much respect do you give to your parents, irrespective of the fact, what do you call them.
