guys, can u guess what mel gibson tried to convey through this film? I heard one of my friends telling that, it is about the taliban invasion of iraq and also the american war against taliban. It fairly matches. Doesnt it? But the film could have been a little less ghory. I welcome your opinions....

I never watch this movie but i heard it. The story concerns about the future. Its the Story of Ancient Mayans, their predictions.

Mel may try to say that the movie has parallels in todays civilization and thats what the movie was about but I feel this is just an excuse to depict a lot of violence and blood

yes you are right in saying that the movie could have been made a little less ghory and less bloody i guess mel gibson just went overboard in trying to depict something like the ways and life of that era...its more like a cannibal don't you think?but to answer your question about whats the moral of the story: for me it is still happening now even in this modern times people kill people, like you say the war in the east...its just the same other countries trying to dominate other countries through invasion.

i don't think so. because it is not an imaginary story. the story of this film has occurred centuries back in America. i don't mean scene by scene. a great red Indian civilization -Aztecs- had existed once in Mexico. they were very powerful and used other minor tribes' people as their slaves and scapegoats. their civilization was destroyed by the frequent attacks from Spanish invaders and by the new diseases the Spanish had brought from Europe to which the red Indian people were vulnerable..
