I need to join...But I just read/participate when something is interesting. I keep different email addresses, so as not to mixed the emails (from all the groups. I have an email address for academic purposes, another for business purposes and another for personal-related things...

I am a member of the writing group. I get a note from them a few times a year. They aren't very active.

I am a member of many Yahoo groups. A lot of Pretender (or Pretender-related) groups, a lot of Julie Andrews groups...some Mariah groups...and some others, a few I founded, like the Freecycle group I run for my area. But I don't follow the messages on all of them. And sometimes I just read the messages on the web and don't subscribe to the daily digest or individual emails because it is a lot! I like the 'groups' system a lot, because it's easy to find people interested in what you are interested in. I've been a 'groupie' for a long time now!

I have joined two yahoo groups , namely an alumni association and a church organization. The alumni association sends out updated reports and posts about the university or college's (where I graduated from) latest news, campus photos, school activities. The church group usually connects us through emails and video conferencing every weekend. The members are spread throughout the world and we constantly communicate with each other by sharing stories, photos, attaching videos and chatting thourhg the yahoo messenger.

Im a member to several groups from food, restaurants, school organizations, text quotes and general ones. Its really easy to send messages to groups because your sure everyone will receive it, you won't have to think if you miss out someone.
