Do you appreciate mylot and defend it if people talk against it?

The old saying "you can make some of the people happy some of the time..." is so true no matter what the instance might be. I've been a member of sites of all kinds and there are always a handful of people complaining about one thing or another. Yet they keep on coming back!
Whether it's a forum, game or earning money site I think members should put things in perspective as far as what happens there. Rules and guidelines are put in place for a reason and whether we agree or not we chose to abide by them when we became a member of that site. We also have to remember that this is a "virtual world" where anyone can be anyone and anything they want to be and feel however they want to feel. There should be no need for verbal attacks on anyone on the internet no matter what the instance may be. We need to remember that although this is a virtual world there are some people who can get very emotional and carry over whatever happens here into their "real" lives. Obviously that's not a good thing but the world is made up of people with all different types of problems unfortunately.
I'll get off my soapbox now and ask....do you appreciate the money you earn here on mylot? Have you made some decent friends and enjoy the discussions? If you see people talking badly against mylot do you defend it, agree just to be "cool" or walk away?

I reckon I am batting 50/50. Either I walk away or I attempt to clarify what is wrong. Many of the gripes come from members not reading the guidelines or the Faqs and not understanding how Mylot works. So I will try to explain something to them. However those that post trash then gripe about Mylot deleting it, well I don't bother.
I look at Mylot like this, it's a forum and ALL forums have some sort of rules. This just happens to be a forum that pays, which IMO means it's furthers my reason for respecting their guidelines. If a day comes I can't, I'll leave and I won't toss a hissy fit on my way out. But that's just me.

I've become tired of those people who complain but still keep posting. It leads me to believe that they just need something to complain about and it's just another discussion to make their few cents...just like this one...lol...

I appriciate the money that I make here, I enjoy responding to the discussions and abide by the rules. sometimes I will defend mylot sometimes I just ignore it because I get fed up and think what's the point. I have met some interesting people here. but I think if people dont want to follow the rules or feel the need to be verbally attacking people they should just leave the site. I also feel that if you ask the question in a discussion you should want to hear both sides not just ones that agree with you.

There are many times I have to ignore what people say about a lot of things and also get fed up at some point. Your also right as far as discussions. It's not a discussion unless you want to hear both sides.

I would probably step in and defend it but tactfully, not as if I was attacking the person putting mylot down. I would just put my two cents in to try to get the other person to put mylot in perspective but would also agree to disagree and walk away if the other person got argumentative.
I'm not sure if "appreciate" is the right word to descibe my feelings about the money. In a way yes, but I appreciate the people and conversations and it doesn't feel right to put the money together with them. I will say that it is a nice bonus for doing something I enjoy doing.

Hi there, ctry. All of my good mood of the past couple of days has vanished. You probably can guess why-another myLotter is being very vocal about their problems. That's one bad habit I have; I tend to be like an empath when it comes to dealing with people. Whatever affects them, I will soak up like a sponge. This has really gotten me down. Your topic could not have come at a better time. I think that these people need to get a grip! For goodness sake, this is only a discussion site. We're not going to solve the problems of the world here. I can't see any reason to become embroiled in all these petty squabbles. Like I've said before-you have to develop a thicker skin. You KNOW thaat people are going to disagree with you sometimes. Why get all bent out of shape over a little thing like this? I will always defend myLot. It has been good for me and, now that I'm earning a little something, it's also good to me. If I wasn't happy I would have left long ago.

I feel the same way. I defend it as it's one of the best sites I have been on and the friends I have are wonderful. I have however been attacked a few times my self and wonder what it is that drives these people to take their frustrations out on me.....or their difference of opinion. Good points here ctrymuziklvr.

Yes in a way. The one time I was attacked it was because of religion. And I think everyone has the right to believe what they do but this person called God some nasty name. ....So if you don't believe in God and someone else does then let them believe what they want to you don't have to try to slam dunk them!

I'm sorry you've found yourself the coming under "attack" by any members anywhere actually. I has happened to me and always because someone doesn't agree with me. Wouldn't it be a perfect world if there were no disagreements? In a way no huh?

I like mylot, and I haven't put as much energy into it as I have other sites that were like more specifically geared to an interest I had or even myspace, so I can't say I've made any friends so far, certainly not gotten any dates out of it (lol, the true test!) but even with that said, yeah I really do like mylot, I think it was a great idea, and it seems that there are all sorts of interesting discussions going on. I have heard people talk about some really deep, esoteric stuff and I have also heard people just be silly, people be sexy and sort of dirty, so it's great, there's something for everyone, as the saying goes.
I haven't really noticed that people badmouth mylot. Where do they do that? Here? Or on other sites?

There are anti this and that sites all over the internet and quite a few members here do have nothing but bad things to say about the site. Your right though this site really does have something for everyone.

I do appreciate the money I make on mylot even if it is minimal. $15 can buy me something small that I wouldn't normally buy and it actually adds up after a few months. I don't mind the complaints and ramblings and if I have something to add then I will, if not, then I skip to the next discussion. The only ones I do mind are when mylotters get out of hand and start to call people names and such which is really uncalled for.
However I am one to just walk on by and may add a few lines or two along the way.

mylot is a virtual world ! i don't think like that . it is a forum that i say from the bottom of my heart ,and discuss something that isn't convenient or justified in my daily life ! mylot is a place everyone can say what he want to say . you can agree or disagree .but it is true it seems stupid to do something verbal attacks . if you disagree some topics ,or even get angry of them .so you just respond 'I DON'T THINK SO' or just get away with it .
in my opinion , earning money is not the reason why i sign in mylot. but i must admit that i appreciate the money i earn .it just let me know that what i do is valuable .and i will be delight if someone can respond to me kindly.
it is a pity that i don't make much firends . i want to be a friend of an english student ,about my age ,18 years old. but i don't know how to find it.
it depends on what they complain about . in overall.mylot is a wonderful. everyday i must surf it .
but there is a problem.the speed of mylot is quiet slow .it is not my computer's fault . because when surfing other site ,the speed is fast. i don't know why .but i would really appreciate if the problem could be solved !
BEST WISH FOR MYLOT . IT WOULD BE BETTER AND BETTER!!
