I have 2 kids by my first marriage. My husband has two kids also one is 25 and one is 9. We have custody of the 9 year old. I would love to have one more baby together. My step-daughter hates being an only child. She says its lonely and all her friends have siblings. I cant get my husband to agree to have another one though.

I only have one child as well. He is a wonderful 1-year-old boy, and I don't plan to have any more. There are many reasons why I choose to have only one child, but what really amazes me is how people who are practically complete strangers feel they have the right to tell me I need to have more kids! Do you experience this as well?

Yes, I know what you mean, the worst are my parents, they thing my daughter has to have a sibling (I just think they want more grandkids), but I have also had complete strangers tell me that its not right to only have one child. I am part of a mommy group in my area and attend several playdates a week but my Daughter acts as if she never gets to play with other kids, and that is the biggest reason I would like to have another child, but I don't feel I need to and if I decide not to have another one I know my daughter will be ok.

I am birth mom to a girl who is now 13, and I have 4 children. They are 10, 9, 6 next month, and just turned 2. They go girl boy girl boy. My husband and I (he is my 2nd husband) would love to have another, though we believe it's not meant to be as we have been pregnant 4 times, and only carried 1 child (our 2 year old) to term, the others were lost early in the pregnancies, between 8 and 10 weeks along. We have a big blended family, and it's always amazing to me at how well it all works out and together. My husband is a wonderful dad and cares a great deal for my older children, their dad isn't very involved at all. We aren't preventing having another added to our bunch, but with the history, it seems not meant to be.

Well we have 3, an 8, 5, and 4 year old. After my last I had my tubes tied. Every once in a while that thought of regret will pop up in the back of my head and start wondering, was it the right thing to do. Every time I see a newborn baby it always makes me want to have another one! Than I turn around and see my 3 children playing, screaming and going nuts, than I tell myself, oh yeah, that's why I did it and don't really need anymore, lol. I'm thankful though for my family of 5 and wouldn't have it any other way:)

I don't have any. Although I always wanted one now, to be honest, I'm relieved I never had one. Today's world is nothing like what I grew up in and I wouldn't want to put my child through living in it. Sad but true.
Have a great day!!

We have two children. Our daughter is 5 and our son is 3. And both are about to have birthdays soon. I think that we might have one more child. We talk about it but now I am getting to the point of having a little freedom as they are starting Pre-school and Kindergarden. Not that I don't love and enjoy being a mom...but I am soooo looking forward to having 2 hours a day to myself that I am about to explode!!! Stay @ home mom syndrome I guess. I am not sure if I am ready to do it all over again. Then again, having one child at home all day is different then two. We will see.

Great topic. I have one and if I have another it will be through adoption. It always breaks my heart to think of children who lay awake at night wishing for a forever home, and knowing its likely they will never get one because they're too old or maybe they have a challenge - like a health problem or emotional problem.

I just have 1, a 5 year old boy. My ex and I decided not to have anymore kids, but never took any medical steps to ensure that. There's always a possibility that I'll have more. I wouldn't be opposed to it. I would want to wait until my son is a little older, and more adjusted. Since he's autistic, I before I would consider more kids, I would want him to be able to regularly use the potty on his own, for example.

I have a son of near 3 years old. I want to have another baby because I think my son often feel lonely at home. But in our country family planning policy permit only one children per family. I have no way to have a second baby except I give up my job, but that is unpractical. I can only admire the mothers who have twins.

i am married with my wife for five years now. and we have a 2 year old son. my wife is 37 already so i think one is enough. if we only got a child earlier then i would love to have two. but she got a lot of miscariages and we are lucky we have one. so i am okay already on having just one child

My fiance is somewhat older than I am, and has 10 children. I don't have any biological children, and I really don't want any. His children are all grown up (some are older than I am) and he doesn't want to father any more children. Who wants kids that are younger than their grandkids? LOL
