light vs. dark hair

Do you think people judge you by the color of your hair? I have naturally very light blond hair and I always hated it so one day I decided I was ready for a major change and I went to the store and bought dark red hair dye and dyed my hair The next day I went to work like I always did and notice an instant difference in the way I was treated, people showed me more respect and made less jokes about me even though they all knew I had blond hair naturaly. I felt more confident in myself with dark hair and I have chosen to keep dark red hair and I've even had black hair I now I never want to be blond again. Has anyone had similar experiences?

My natural color is a medium light brown but I'm blond now. I can't say that I've noticed any difference in how I'm treated directly. I think guys tend to look at me more as a blonde than as a brownette, but in my business that's a good thing. I sing in a band so I want people to be paying attention to me.. LOL.
