I have been an avid fan of talk radio since back in the days when Sally Jessy Raphael, Bruce Williams, etc. had their show on. The face of talk radio has changed very much since those days. I picked the habit back up a few years ago. I guess I figured it was easy to do some of the other things I like to do while, at the same time, keeping up with what's going on in the world. The station I listen to is very conservative, but I am not a conservative. However, my favorite late-night show comes on the same station. I was wondering how many of you listen to talk radio, and what are your favorite shows? My favorite is Coast To Coast AM with George Noory as host. I am constantly learning new things from this show.

I am out of the practice , but I used to listen to the local sports radio station.Jim Rome was my favorite. But my all time favorite is Howard Stern. I didn't get to hear him often , but I did get to see his show when it was on E.

I used to love Jim Rome's show also, sarah. They took it off my local station some years ago. I have never been a fan of Howard Stern. I think he is crude and distasteful. My daughter used to watch his show though.

I also like talk shows on the radio......When I was in Hawaii I called almost every talk show host and personally knew them...They even had a nickname for me......The only thing with talk shows here in Las Vegas is they have gone to syndacation and seems to come from a can. Sure doesn't make for very good converation.
I've listened to George Noory and think he's pretty good...But would rather be able to talk to the Host more often than we can cause it's the best way for politiation to know what's on our mind.

You won't have much success with that, nzinky, because George's show deals mostly with the supernatural and UFOs and such. I enjoy it most of the time though. I like the open lines shows the best. Some of the people tell the most fantastic tales!

I used to listen to a lot of talk radio in the past, but not so much anymore unless I'm driving. I used to like to listen to Paul Harvey, Jim Rome (sports) and a few others. About 10-15 years ago I used to listen to Howard Stern. Back then he had interesting guests, interesting discussions, and was a load of laughs. Over the years he became the epitome of shock jocks; everything is for shock value, and his discussions have become tasteless and mundane. Now I'll only listen to talk radio if they're interesting and are discussing something with some substance in it, and not all the 'chit-chat' that has become the boring norm.
