Who was your favorite character?

My favorite character from Mash would have to be Radar. Not only was the character very loveable and easily identified with he went thru a lot of character growth during the life of the show. I still want to try a grape Knee-hi (not sure if the his is correct spelling) although I think the company is out business.

has to be RADAR, have been called that myself on many occasions as seem to hear what others cant... but he was so cute, and shy., yet the master of organisation., he really knew who he worked with and how they worked totally like able and lovable and huggable.... did one of those quizzes on fb once to find out what character i was and ended up as klinger., so was a little off beat for radar., but as his successor, could live with the out come :)

Well, it is murder to choose one as a favourite... I'd say that this show had such great succes due to the combination of characters. My favourites are Hawkeye, Radar an Winchester. First one is obvious, he is the soul of the show, Radar because he is such a great built character (eyeglasses to compensate his ESP), and Winchester because, me and have some kind of a resemblance: we both try to speak in long uncomprehensive word... Well, he seemed to have more succes than me, but I still try.

I think the reason the show was a huge sucess is because all of the characters were loveable, memorable, and everyone could relate to them. Even though I love Alan Alda as Hawkeye Pierce, I really love the character Wayne Rogers played as John 'Trapper' MacIntire... he was so funny, and he made me laugh so many times... I just love him! I also love David Ogden Stires as Charles Emerson Winchester III. He was so cocky, yet loveable.

I loved Trapper! He was a blast to watch. Was so funny. I also laugh no matter how many times I've seen the episodes!

I loved all the characters, but Larry Linville as Frank Burns was my favorite. He was such a good actor, and he played the part of a boob so well.

I agree with you about Alan Alda. He was one of my favorites too. I also liked Radar but I'm not sure why. Maybe becuase he seemed so innocent. I also liked Klinger. Some of the things he did were very funny.

Hawkeye was definitely a great character. I think my favorite character though would be Margaret. She just goes through so many personal changes throughout the series. From being someone that you don't really like all that much to being someone that you want to see succeed and be happy, you know? Hawkeye is great, but he's essentially the same character through the course of the show.
