I wear contacts strictly for comsmetic purposes-but for those who need glasses what's your choice? My son recently switched from eyeglasses to contacts & I think his appearance is sooo improved but I realize that some ppl (like my man) are apprehensive about putting something in their eyes. What's your choice & why?

when i was younger i didn't wanna be seen with glasses so i asked my mother if i could get contacts. but after wearing them for about 5 years. and then i switched back to glasses. i like the glasses better because i don't have to remember to take them out before i fall asleep. but if i had my choice i'd get laser surgery

I am a employee at an Opticians and would personally say that contact lenses depend on personal preference, lifestyle and perscription. There are many contact lens options availible for your husband such as daily disposibles, monthly contact lenses or continuous wear ones all of which have their benefits and disadvantages. The best thing to do would to get your husband to book a contact lens fit, where he can speak to an Optician who can advise him if a contact lens is suitable for him based on his lifestyle of perscription and which lens would be best suited for him. Normally in most opticians you can do a contact lens trial to see how you get on with a particular brand of contact lens before you go ahead with them? You also have to have regular contact lens checks to check the health of your eyes with contact len's and see how you are getting on, so there is nothing really to worry about in terms of eye health as long as you are doing everything correctly.

I think I see better with contacts on. I hate glasses.
I think lasik is too expensive, so I will stick with contacts.
You get used to putting them in..it is no biggie...but I think women are tougher then men.

I really don't mind. I loved my glasses and didn't go to contacts until I was about 15/16 though thats more due to my weird fear of eyeballs. They're just disgusting, ha. I think I pull off both but glasses really can change your appearance for better or for worse.

I have to have vision correction and I used to wear both contacts and glasses. But, the contacts began to hurt my eyes and they would flutter and twitch when they were hurting. Also, there was an added expense at having to have to wear disposables. So, I have stopped wearing them for now. I may get some new ones later on. I see better with my glasses anyway.
I think if you get glasses that are in style, they can actually add to your appearance.

I hate them both but I dare not go to Lasik eye surgery. Glasses I love because as you stated I don't want to deal with putting the contact in my eye, I can't stand the way they dry out at times, or when putting them in the contact slips down causing pain in my socket wherever it may be logged. Or if they are dropped then nine times out of ten they are lost. Contacts I love for I don't have to worry about the Glasses mark that I receive on the top of my nose under my eyes...ICK! I hate having to clean them, or being extra careful that I don't scratch them, break them, bend them so that they are crooked, loose screws, or fall asleep in them. But to answer your question at the moment I choose Glasses because thats all I have right now.

I wore glasses for many years until I got lasik eye surgery. I tried contacts for a short time but they were never clear for more than about 30 seconds, so I quit trying to wear them. It took a long time for me to get used to how I look without glasses and I think that wearing them for so long had a permanent affect on my face so that I look older now than I would have if I hadn't worn glasses for so long.
