More than two hundred people have been killed in bombings in northern Iraq - how much is the US troop surge achieving?
Insurgents have struck at the minority Yazidi eligious group in a series of attacks in villages near Mosul.
Tensions already exist between Yazidis and local Muslims - and a forthcoming regional referendum is adding to the difficulties. Is the spread of violence in Iraq a signthat insurgents are being driven out of Baghdad? Can the US military presencecontrol the violence? What future is there for religious minorities in Iraq? Are you a member of the Yazidi community?

It is very a tragic situation. I think the majority religion in that part of the world wants to dominate the minority, and there will be no peace for the minority. From what I read, the majority religion does not appear to tolerate differences so they continue spreading violence. I don't think the U.S. military can control the violence. I think there are always going to be wars as long as one religion thinks they are superior to another and wants to impose their religion on to others who does not have the share the same beliefs. From what I read that seems to be the norm in that area of the world which is sad.

oh it is such a hard one, I believe every person on this earth should have the right to vote for the person who leads their country but is it worth all this killing but then again can we just leave these people to be controlled by these people. It is so sad and none of it is really for the sake of religion, no religion condones killing. If these people could just lay down their weapons let the people all have a say in what they want surely they deserve to have a say. I just don't think there is an answer either way unfortunately.
