MOst of the time DepEd suspend classes when there are typhoons, calamites and other casualties that is happening here in the Philippines.Everytime there is no classes most of the student is happy because they can do what they want to do.Some of them are not happy because they are concern to their parents who sacrifice for their needs when it comes to studies.although there are calamities that is coming every year but we should balance everything,if there's no classes the students mus review or study their lessons so that when they go back to school they already know the topics that will be discussed and they have knowledge in their lessons.I know that every student has different styles when it comes to studying but they should give priority to their studies too.so what's your idea abou this?share it!thanks

im from Philippines but not from Manila.. we havent yet experience it here at general santos city having strong typhoon as what luzon had. i dont like having no classes sometimes.. i dont want spending my time on useless things such us going to mall with friends just for fun.. i would rather spend my time with my family if im at the mall..
i even dont like long vication.. that makes me feel stupid and so i always have my books to read.
but if the case is like what you have just said on your posted discussion... then it is best to suspend the class.. it would be safe for the children or students rather to stay at home. students even without class can be helpful to their parents if you are worried of the sacrifices that parents do for their children.. students can help clean the house and many other useful activities.
we just have to be responsible. we musnt let our self to be stagnant.. keep our lives progressive! be thankful on each day we have to learn and to improve.

Going to classes is very important to me when I was in school. I never had any absent from the class even if my professor is not that good.

When I was a student I longed for no classes, I even pray it. If there is no class I can play games, sleep a lot, chat with friends and go to places. And no test or deadlines to make. But later in mylife I have learned that it is better to have classes os that we can learn our lessons and that lesson will be discussed inside the class. I think we can understand better if it is being discussed.

I do prefer without classes because i believe in the classes sometimes we lack a good teacher to teach us and so as i my self do not allow my self to be influenced with any kind of teaching and always i teach myself and i believe right now i am very far with what i have been study concerned the self.So i really prefer without classes

wow!!! learning withot a teacher.. im trying to do that but i get bored.. i dont have classes because of some reasons.. i stay at home.. cooking meals.. reading books of my favorite author and spending time with my computer.
i tried to learn online through tutorials... but i guess it makes me slow to learn.. i easily get tired reading codes i cant understand and tracking mistakes of my tags.. hahai.. if it would be history i am trying to learn then it would be easy to learn alone... oh well.. this is life.. ;)

I was just wondering why do they always make mistakes in suspending classes? yesterday it rained hard and there has been floods everywhere here in Metro Manila, they announce the suspension in the mid morning where evryone is already out there in the school.
Today, they suspended the classes and was announce on the National television last night, but look..there is not even a single drop of rain..LOL
but anyway, to answer your post, of course when I was still a student I rejoice when there is no class..I love it and make it an excuse to do some trips and gimicks.

when i was a student, suspension of classes means celebration. time to be lazy, watch tv, read books and to spent time with my pets. how i wish that private sectors also declare non working holiday everytime there's a typhoon. but i know i can only wish for that.

oh no!! if your government sectors or even private sectors will declare the suspension because of typhoon then it only shows the the typhoon is every very strong.. here in the Philippines.. government only declare suspension for the students to be safe.. some of the billboards here are destroyed because of typhoon.. even electric posts and house roofs are flown away.. tress are down because of strong wind.. and the flood is very high.. would you like your classes be suspended because of this?

im from philippines too. good thing that the typhoon did not hit directly in our area.
if you're so stress with your work you will definitely wish for a holiday even just one day.

i loved it when they suspend classes. LOL it meant more hours to watch tv, rest, read a book, or play. ^__^ when there's no exam coming up, then i think its okay to be lazy during suspended class days. but if there are exams coming up, then we have to be responsible and prepare for it even during suspended class days! LOL its just a matter of looking at the situations. ^__^
