Should S/W Piracy stopped ??

Now this is something that i feel should be stop... But someone told me that companies themselves want piracy should b carried on due to some reason ....
Wat do u guys say ??

we shud think first, why piracy is in picture?
b'cos the original S/W are too high cost and normal PC users con't afford it. thats why they/we prefer pirated.
it the S/W prices r low then why we go for pirated.
