I made fliers with with a photo of one of the flower beds that I designed. That was 4 years ago. Last year I was turning down work and will be doing the same this year if I do not find employees that are capable of doing the work.
Getting jobs is easy. Finding employees who will show up and take pride in their work is the hard part.

I didn't find it very hard to get started. However I did any kind of landscaping. If I were to limit myself by only taking designing jobs I wouldn't be where I am today.
It is very hard to work only designing. There are a lot of people out there who don't want to work and they would fall into the design only category. Without a degree or landscaping company it is going to be very hard. I like doing all of the work which makes it a lot better. However I will eventually run a flower bed installation and maintenance crew. I'll hire a supervisor to do the rest of it. Because I started the company to design, install and maintain flower beds.

If your mom have the talent and passion with gardening, exposure is what she needs, Show your garden or any garden that she designed to friends and relatives, Take a picture of his designs that are already complete and installed and upload it here so we can see. hope this helps
