Will you help to take care of your grandchildren?

yes i will be glad to take care of my grandchildren someday..my mama and my mother-in-law had took care of my daughter many times when i have to do so much things and i couldn't take care of her for the day..

My mom has been my life line so many times. I can't express my true gratitude for all the help she has given me with raising my kids. Even now that she lives an hour away, she will take one at a time for a week or so. Or she'll take all four for a weekend. It is so wonderful to have her as such an active part in my children's lives. My fiance's parents also help us out. They sit for us here and there, and have taken 1 or 2 over night. It is truly a blessing. So you bet I will be as active as possible when its time for me to be a grandmother. I see the joy in our parents faces when they are with our children, I definitely want a piece of that when it is my turn. I would even go as far to say that I would raise my grandkids for my children if the need ever arose. My grandchildren will be just as much a part of me as my children are, therefore just as much my responsibility to ensure their future. ~Peace and blessings!

Hello dear youless. Yeah, I quite agree with you that this seems to be the tradition of us Chinese, which is part of Chinese culture. It is the same with my parents and parents-in-law when my son was small and needed their help sometimes though not always because we three live together, not in the same house with them. I think that my wife and I will also take care of son's child, our grandchild when we have one some day in more than ten years. This tradition will be just passed on and on and we are happy for it.

yes i will...just like my mum she used to watch over with my kid from the day that i gave birth till our last stay in manila... and i will do that to my grandchildren if ever... coz being a mother is not an easy task...

I love helping take care of my grandchildren. In May I traveled 500 miles to help out my daughter with her baby.

I watch my grandchildren all the time. My daughter is a single mother and a good mom too. I wouldnt trust anyone much to watch them. I didnt have babysitters for my kids much because you just dont know. I also have my 7 yr old at home and we dont leave her with any of his family or many of mine. My hubby gets upset when I watch my grandchildren. He feels like I do it to much even when I dont. I feel its my choice if I want to watch them or not. My kids and grandkids are very important to me.I love my hubby but sometimes he is a control freak and wants all my time for him.

Well, I wouldn't trust either my parents or my husband's parents (even if they did live where I do) to take care of my child, because they all have histories of child abuse. However, if my son ever had children, I would hope that he would let me help take care of them! I know a lot of parents who let their children spend time with their grandparents, and I think it's great for the kids, the grandparents, and the parents! I just wish I had that option myself.

That would all depend on whether they would need my help in taking care of their children. Sure I wouldn't mind helping out as family is always important to me. I would hope they be responsible for their own children, and when the need arises, I will help out when I can.
