What is a positive attitude to you?

I have read a book about POSITIVE ATTITUDE and thought I shared it with you all.
"Most people have a positive attitude some of the time. This means some people have a negative attitude all the time. Few people have a positive attitude all the time. And you know who the positive people are. They are evident by the way they conduct themselves and the way they respond to things. One of the biggest mistakes people make with their attitude is leaving a situation angry or grumbling. Big mistake. Employees not talking to one another over petty issues, spouses using words of hatred that they can never take back, and reactions to confrontational situations that are left in a negative state. Think about the last few heated exchanges that you have had. What was your response to the situation? Dissect that, and you'll have a clearer view of where your attitude is, and how much distance there is between yours and a positive one." (reference made from the LITTLE GOLD BOOK OF YES ATTITUDE BY Jeffrey Gitomer's)
For me, I look for how I can take a situation and turn it into a win - even if it means jumping into the middle of the negative, battling a little bit, and emerging in the positive.

I'd have to say that I believe I have a predominantly positive attitude.
In most situations, I make sure not to leave on a bad note, especially with my friends and boyfriend.
I like to confront the issue and talk about what has just happened and how we can resolve it.
Whenever I'm feeling negative within myself, i try to find the source of this negativity and conquer it, either alone or with the help of my partner.
I still believe that in some situations, we do need to allow ourselves to feel anger and take a break, so long as it is controlled and we do not say or do things that we will regret shortly after.
Having a positive attitude is the key to a happy, healthy life.

A positive attitude is to face the worst situation cheerfully. No matter whatever has happened, or whatever is to happen, the show must go on with a positive spirit. A positive attitude helps to accept failures as a part of learning process and motivates you to go further towards self-enrichment. It is hard to find people with positive attitude as most of us easily succumb to pressure and become negative. My personal attitude is rather balanced - neither positive nor negative.

someone who has a positive attitude has already made it clear in his mind that nothing else really matters and just lets them be because we are all different in most ways.a positive person does not always answer yes to everything and leave as that, he or she should be more progressive and striving to be a better person . it is an affirmation of one's self thus having self confidence and not pride.

Hello ellie, what is stated in the quoted paragraph is right. No one is absolutely perfect with their possitive attitude. Even the most possitive and optimistic man can some times turn negetive. This failure to keep the attitude is quite human. In my case I however try the most to keep my attitude possitive. Rarlier when I was young I used to be a little negative. But age has it's own effect on us. It tames us, it cools us down. Still there are ocassions when I turn a little negetive. Anyway I keep my optimism going and try to be possitive.

Positive thinking is a powerful tool in achieving things worthwhile. However I would not advocate this line of thinking all the time. When misfortunes arrive in a row , being positive is difficult. You would have normal fears as to destruction and damage .

Here is my example of a positive attitude:
When my daugher was a year old she found the brown lump in the bottom of her diaper one morning and decided to investigate. She must have then decided it was very much like the playdough she often enjoyed at the kitchen table with her sister. Logically (of course my daughter at 12 months old was logical;)) she moved onto using that brown mass as an art tool and began creating the most abstract design on her bedroom wall. It was quite beautiful, if you like brown, of course. This was all accomplished long before I awoke. As my alarm clock woke me to another great day, I padded down the hall in my slippers to greet my little angel with a smile. My nose contorted a bit. I pondered the smell, not quite the aroma of morning coffee. Picking up my little artist and carrying her to the bathroom, I asked her if I was to pay her for the new artwork, or if a hug would be enough. I got a big smiling "mama!" and a hug in return as we filled the tub with warm water and talked about fingerpainting.
Later that day I bought some chocolate pudding and let her play at the kitchen table. I explained to her that I only wanted new designs on the mat I provided. The whole family would have to approve of any further works of art before they were hung on the wall.

In my opinion, most people are not having positive attitudes. We can take a look around our world. Otherwise, our world isn't like a present situation or what you've described (i.e., wars, disputes among others). I don't believe that most people will have positive attitudes when someone does something bad to them.

all people have different attitude some has positive and some have negative, but it doesnt mean that people with positive attitude take everything positively and vice versa but i means they are more positive i.e. each and every man have both type of attitude but his proportion of showing positiveness and negative describes his complete attitude depends on the situation.

God is good and He is IN CONTROL.
Actually, it always helps to look deep into ourselves first so we will not tend to judge other people when they make mistakes or act negatively towards situations or towards us. A positive outlook stems from dwelling of course, on the positive side of things. And basically, what I've been learning is that we can never truly understand why certain things happen; they happen because they are meant to happen and they have a purpose -- even when they seem to be ugly or sad things.
Remembere 9/11? It was a bad, negative situation that shocked America and the rest of the world. But eventually, something good came out of it. Because God is good.
There's a prayer that I've come across with which has also helped me maintain a positive outlook on things: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to accept those I can't, and wisdom to know the difference." :)
