I flew to Greece when I was 14 years old. I had only been to France before that. I really thought about traveling when I was a child. I asked my mum if we could have a holiday in a foreign country. I saved some money from my paper round for it.
Taking off was absolutely amazing. The plane rushed along the runway. As the plane lifted into the air I saw all the land below. It was a fantastic experience. It was superb seeing all the white puffy clouds as the plane flew higher into the sky. However when the plane came down form this height, ready to land, I had considerable pain in my ears. I went almost deaf for half an hour after the flight. So apart from the problem with my ears I really liked my first flight.
Luckily I have worked out how to stop my ears having such trouble whilst flying. I wear a device called ear planes, they look like plastic screws that help equalize the pressure in my ears. I really love traveling and like to fly to get to far flung tropical destinations. If I am going a long way like from Australia to England I break up the journey with stopovers.
