what does your voice sound like?

My voice sounds like a child's. I hate it because people don't take me seriously.

Once a friend of mine commented that my voice is penetrating. In other words even when I'm having a normal discussion or call out to someone, people think I'm fighting. Its not deep but loud and since I'm a vociferous person, you can hear my voice almost all the time. Someone also told me once over the phone that my voice was sweet and pleasing and that I should be on the radio. Anyway, whatever it is, I wish I was a little soft spoken and my vocal chords were less exercised.

My voice is low for a woman, but it doesn't sound like a man's voice either. Usually I sound either matter-of-fact or monotone. But when I'm telling a joke or story, it sounds lively. Lately, my voice sounds tired because I'm recooperating. How does your voice sound?
