Which juice do you give to your kids for lunch everyday?

We don't usually have juice in our house, except for the occasional juice that we give to our daughter. Since she can't drink orange juice, we give her fruit juice instead from Tropicana or Minute Maid. But, she normally doesn't have any with her meals. She doesn't like lemonade, because it's too sour. Or, at least that's what she told me. I think her precise words were "It's junky!" I'm trying to make sure that juice doesn't become the focus of her meals, so I try not to serve it at lunch or dinner time. Otherwise I get lots of requests for juice refills. How do you handle this type of situation? Which brands of juice do you serve to your children everyday? Do you find that they prefer one brand over another? Do you think it's best to serve juice with lunch or later as a snack?

We get Juicey Juice with the WIC program so that is mostly what our kids get. We give them half juice half water. They also sometimes get kool-aid. With meals though they get milk to drink. My mom always did that with us and now I prefer to drink milk with my meals.

I was on WIC when I was pregnant, and Juicy Juice is what they gave me too. It's really good stuff. But very expensive when you have to pay for it yourself. It's totally worth it though, cause it tastes better than any of the other kinds. I guess kids would like it too. But, it often tasted very sophisticated. Sort of like gourmet juice. That reminds me. I should put some on my grocery shopping list.

We usually get juicy juice for my son. There's a different brand that my husband prefers for Apple Juice, but I can't remember what it is. The only place I've ever seen is on military bases, so you probably wouldn't recognize it anyway, though. I only give my son juice with a snack. He usually has water with most meals. He has milk with breakfast, and a couple of other times a day, but not usually with any other food. As far as juice goes, he only gets it during snack time every two or three days. It's like a special treat for him. He really likes Kiwi Strawberry juice. He likes lemonade, too, but we don't give it to him very often because there's too much sugar.

I'll have to try that Juicy Juice for my little girl. I had that when I was pregnant and it was so delicious. I wonder if she would like it. Plus, real fruit in the juice I've heard. You always have super great ideas, thanks for the tip!

nutramul - the healthy and veg drink for children.
Nutramul, Nutramul and Nutramul. I think it is the best drink for children. Every one knows that Amul makes everything vegeterian and is called the taste of India. So i love Nutramul too.

My daughter drinks orange juice and apple juice- that is all she likes for juices. I give her 100% Juicy Juice for apple—and usually Tropicana for Orange- She gets to have juice 1 time per day- Juice has a lot of calories so I don’t allow her to drink a lot of it each day- My daughter always drinks milk and water with dinner.

If we are at home, usually I will blend fresh apple , orange or watermelon into juice for them an hour before or after meal. During meal, my kids prefer water. If we are outside, I will get any brand as long as it is apple or orange juice. My preferred brand is Treetop, Tropicana or Minute Maid.

I buy juices that are not from concentrate. Most juices have hidden sugars in the form of sucrose and fructose. Tropicanas and minute maid have alot of these types. Juicy Juice is ok, but water should be the main drink for anyone. Juices are almost as bad as cokes. They have alot of calories.

I have always thought juice was good for children as opposed to serving sodas. He does like his water, or a cup of milk or apple juice at lunch times or even a hot cup of milo. Apple juice seems to be the one he likes the most though and I am not sure what brand we buy either. I often give him that as part of his lunch and with his dinner as well. He usually has a cup of milo at breakfast time or a cup of milk.

I try to buy juices that are 100% fruit juice, not from concentrate. I also like the Mott's Plus (It may be from concentrate but it has other vitamins and no sugar added). My children only get juice if they have had their milk for the day.
